My stay at Ascott Raffles City Chongqing was deeply disappointing and unsatisfactory.
I had booked a deluxe suite expecting a city view, as indicated in the listing. Instead, I was given a room facing an office block, with such close mutual visibility that privacy concerns were unavoidable. When I raised this issue, I was informed of a "misunderstanding" in the listing and was told that to receive the room I had initially expected, I would need to pay an additional 30%. This situation was particularly frustrating, given that the oversight was entirely on the hotel's part, with no fault of my own.
Moreover, I was mistakenly accused by the front reception of playing loud music one night, despite the fact that I wasn't playing any music. This unfounded complaint, combined with the lack of initiative to verify the claim before contacting me, highlighted a significant lapse in service quality.
Given this experience, I advise future travelers to consider establishments that better prioritize customer satisfaction. Based on my positive experiences, the Intercontinental at Raffles City Chongqing offers a more reliable alternative.
