The overall feeling is quite clean and simple, and the basics of living here are foreigners. The hotel has a private entrance to the gold rush park, you only need to brush the hotel room card can be very convenient, and there is no need to line up, a few steps away. However, the price is expensive. Fortunately, if you are tired, you can go back to the hotel at noon and take a break in the afternoon. This is a little gem! I really recommend staying here. My room was great. After hours check-in was fantastic. The room entry technology is amazing! The shower was nice and hot, with great pressure. The bed was very comfortable with equally comfortable pillow. There were two spare pillows. Air conditioning very good. Lovely couch in the room. Awesome cathedral ceiling - always very impressive. Full size ironing board available, microwave, toaster, kettle all included. Fridge in room. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand towels and three bath towels all provided. Room smells clean on entry. The bathroom is a bit dated - especially toilet - but it does it's job. The room is huge in size. Great size room. Not much to fault with this place. There is a pool, but didn't use it and it's a bit hard to find the door to it. I would recommend staying here. It's clean and comfortable and very good value for the price. Stay here!

Quite nice hotel, clean and tidy. The booked room contains breakfast and is quite rich. Easy parking. The hotel is just around the Sovereign Hill and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Visitor Service Center.

So many positive things to say about Sovereign Park but the 2 memorable standouts which will have us returning would have to be, the SERVICE and INDOOR HEATED POOL & SPA! The booking & check-in process were both so easy. Jen served us throughout our stay, she was immediately warm and welcoming. After checking out and having mentioned we were going to explore the Wildlife Park nearby, we had a call from Jen about some precious plush toys our daughter had left behind. She knew how important it was to get it back to us so she wasted no time in contacting us before we made our way back home. The family room was comfy & cosy, clean and included all the amenities needed. The kids had the best time in the pool, spa & sauna. Mummy even got some time to spend in the gym, nothing flashy but complete & practical. Thanks so much & keep up the great service. It's two or three kilometers away from the city center. It's like a resort. There is a reception at the entrance. It takes three to five minutes to walk in. The cottage, the first-floor bungalows in the townhouse, and free parking next to it. It was enough for three people. It was not so crowded. The door was open outdoors. It was not the same as staying in a hotel. It was good. You could sit at the door and watch the stars. It felt quieter than the hotel and no neighbors disturbed. Close to Shufenshan Gold Mine Town. If you want to go out for dinner, you have to go outside the yard to find it. On the walk, you do n’t have to go out.

This motel is on the edge of the city centre and close to restaurants, supermarkets and other amenities. The bed was very comfortable and a real large bed (not two single mattresses stuck together as many places seem to offer). Our room had a sofa, table and 2 chairs, small fridge, kettle, toaster, and tea/coffee making facilities. TV only offers free--to-air but that was not a problem for us. Very clean and easy check-in check-out. Off-street parking, good value all round.

Thanks for a great experience during our stay. We had a spacious family room including a queen bed, a single bed and double bunk. The kitchenette had equipment beyond the norm. There was plenty of natural light from full length windows near the balcony. We easily walked to cafes and supermarket.

The room itself was more than adequate and the spa bath in the private bathroom a delight. But the visit was spoilt by the false advertising on the booking site. We were promised a free continental or English breakfast but upon asking for it were told they didn't do breakfast and suggested to go to McDonalds. We were told there was a bar/lounge. SInce we were there for my wife's birthday we thought a drink in the bar would be nice once we had the kids in bed - but there was no bar to be found. The room details mentioned a ”full kitchen” but this was just a microwave and a kettle. It was a nice room at a reasonable price. There should be no need to lure customers in with lies.

The room was clean, bed comfy and a hot shower. Very basic inside. After two showers, it had leaked through to the lounge and soaked the carpet. We had to block the front door surrounds with the extra pillows as the draft blowing through was very loud and kept waking us up! A sign on reception door said it was closed, please call. The phone was answered by fellow sitting at reception desk that we could see through window, he requested we come in, when asking about sign on the door, he ignored us. Car parking is rather tight, if you have a largish car. Cleaners were quite noisy early in the morning. This will certainly not be my first choice when looking to stay in Ballarat again, not good value for $$$

Come to Ballarat and stay here. Go to the gold rush town of Mount Shufen during the day and return to the hotel at night. Walking around feels like traveling back to the 19th century. It's very tasteful. Although the facilities are not comparable to international chain brands, it has a different flavor overall. It is worth staying here
