We like Hampton Inn Suites by Hilton Montreal-Dorval. The room is spacious and clean. We had a King size bed and a sofa bed for 4 people and it was good. The breakfast was great. This is a busy hotel so sometimes people were hard to find a table to sit and eat. But it was not a big deal.
We arrived, exhausted, at midnight on 26th June and were given room 127 on the ground floor for our one night. The advantage was that it was only a 30 second walk from reception, the disadvantages included obviously being right under the flight path, with very poor noise insulation. I’ve stayed in airport hotels all over the world, but never have I felt that an Airbus is about to touch down at the end of my bed. The air conditioning was uncontrollable by the inmate, and came on of its own accord every 5 minutes with a racket that Bon Jovi would have been proud of. More knocking, whirring and pounding than a pneumatic drill. So a good nights sleep, when most needed, was impossible. Good points, the bed was comfy and the bathroom shower was good. The lighting needed to be better though, and the coffee provided was clearly the cheapest possible option, pretty yuk. Finally, breakfast was quite poor with what tasted like powdered scrambled egg, some tiny ‘sausages’ and orange squash, in no was was it orange juice. Finally, when we checked out at 9am, not one person asked us how our stay had been. So now everyone knows. I would not, I’m afraid, recommend this hotel to anyone. Everything seems to be done on the tightest budget. I will be contacting their head office to request some compensation for the lack of sleep.
The room was well appointed if a bit small. Nice shower, big tv, comfortable room. There were multiple USB jacks which is very helpful. The appointments well thought out, lighting where wanted, (I like the small reading light). I have to mention the dinner we had. We expected a typical hotel menu with burgers ext, but we’re pleasantly surprised at the wonderful food. The meat and cheese platter was inspired, I had a salad that was lovely and my wife very Much enjoyed her onion soup. In addition the service was pleasant and efficient.

The first night we were supposed to check in the system went down and we were not able to get into a room until later at night. By the night audit staff Khalil was amazingly accommodating. He found us an empty room to stow our luggage and rest and once it was up and running he got us into the room we booked for. The next day Angie did a phenomenal job managing the desk all by herself and solving the issue from night before. Would 11/10 come back to stay here.
I recently spent a couple nights at the Sheraton Montreal Airport (one night stays on each end of a trip) and while the stays were good overall, I would say there's a lot of opportunity for the hotel to improve. I've stayed here many times over the years, but I haven't been in a couple years. Returning this time, I felt it was a good hotel with a lot of potential. I just got the feeling there is a lack of attention to detail in a lot of areas. The first night I stayed, there was no explanation of the dining situation. The television stated the restaurant and room service was not available. When I went down to the lobby I noticed the restaurant is in fact running. I'm not sure if room service is also open and the information was outdated. The Club lounge was also closed. They do provide soft drinks and complementary sandwiches which is a decent compromise however. There is a beautiful new fitness centre, but it was initially difficult to locate. It would have been nice that its location was explained when checking in and better signage. After walking around I finally asked a cleaner for its location and eventually found it. The machines don't seem to have television or anything hooked up to them which would be a welcome addition if possible. Overall this is a good hotel with a lot of potential. It felt like things got shut down due to Covid and just never really restarted. While other hotels have made the move back to normalcy, this one still felt like it was in transition. The staff were friendly and the facilities are clean. Some of the furniture is probably due to be replaced, but again we are talking minor improvements. I would return to this hotel, I just hope to see more things back to normal and better communication. Not having room service is a big problem.
This hotel is conveniently located in the terminal at the Montreal airport. The rooms are large, clean, and modern. It’s a perfect place to crash if you only have a few hours and don’t want to go off-property.
My only complaint is about a staff member’s error. While I had pre-paid for the room, I was asked to place a credit card on hold for incidentals, which is normal. At checkout, I confirmed we were all set (no charges). Later, I found my credit card had been charged over $100 for something. The hotel said they made a mistake a refunded the charge, but I have now been charged an international transaction fee for both the charge and the refund, which is really annoying since I didn’t purchase anything.
We flew into Montreal and stayed one night at the Fairfield. We were picked up at the airport by a courtesy shuttle bus and within minutes we were at the hotel. Check in was very quick and the staff members were very efficient and friendly. Our room was very spacious and had the comforts of home. After putting our luggage in the room we went to the bar for a drink and were taken back by the price of a bottle of beer $10.00 The morning continental breakfast buffet was fantastic with lots of selections. I would highly recommend this hotel and it’s very close to the Dorval Via Train Station.
Easy walk from the airport for anyone in average shape. There is a shuttle too but if you look at the list of shuttle services at the airport (door 8, departure level I think), you won’t see the Aloft. It’s under Marriott Bonvoy.
The room was easily the cleanest one I’ve ever stayed in (standard king). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only complaint would be the lack of shampoo in the otherwise spotless shower. Also, most of the menu items were unavailable because it was later in the week (Thursday).
Breakfast is average, but it is still very convenient and cost-effective. The hotel is a few kilometers from the airport, you can see the plane taking off, the children like it. The hotel has a car park and there is also a free bus airport transfer.
Disappointing. The hotel amenities state that there is a 24 hour free airport shuttle bus, it does not run 24 hours. We had to pay for a taxi back to the airport. There was a cold water dispenser with lemons in the lobby but it was empty. A coffee machine was provided in the room, however, of the 3 coffee pods one was used and only thin plastic cold beverage cups were provided. The room was big, shows signs of wear but the air conditioning worked well and the bed was comfortable. The area around the hotel is a typical airport hotel, not much going on.
