This is my first bad review on Ctrip, and I give it to this hotel.
I booked this hotel for a business trip. The price of 1400 is several times higher than other local hotels, but this time I had a very bad experience.
First of all, I have to say that the environment of this hotel is much better than other hotels, and the room size is also quite satisfactory.
The room facilities are not good, but they are very new, which is acceptable.
Then we come to the key point. First of all, the service. This hotel has almost no other services except check-in. The waiters seem to be very old and have not received professional training. They never greet guests when they see them. If it is a hotel of several hundred yuan, I think it is acceptable, but for a hotel of this price, the service is not worthy of its price.
In the small attic on the second floor, a group of staff were playing cards, which shows the management of this hotel.
Second, breakfast, there are few varieties and poor quality, which really surprised me. The eggs were not fried fresh, and they heated up the cold ones when I needed them. I thought I could eat Shanxi specialty noodles, but I saw corn, frozen shrimp dumplings, and frozen buns on the steamer, and the key is that they were still cold.
There was no coffee for drinks, only black tea, juice that was over-diluted with water, no grilled sausage, bacon, bread, etc. I ordered a knife-cut noodle, which I thought was a local specialty and tasted good, but I saw fish tofu in the noodles, which made me speechless. Anyway, I have never seen such a standard of breakfast for a four-digit price.
Overall: the environment and room are fine, but there are no other advantages. The cost performance is not high, so avoid it.

My children (18/16 yo) stayed at Pingyuan Mansion for two nights. Our taxi from the Pingyao railway dropped us at the South Gate of the city wall. He called the hotel, who sent a trolley to pick up as they were not allowed inside the city wall. It has two lovely courtyards. Our room had automations everything. Breakfast was amazing for those who like of varieties of small dishes. The staff made arrangements to drop us off the railway. It is only a few alleys away from the excitements of street vendors, music, sit down restaurants and shops. You won’t be disappointed staying with them. Truly an authentic Pingyao stay.

It is a very good inn, on the main street, with attractions nearby, convenient to go anywhere, the bathroom and guest room bath water is very comfortable, hot immediately, and the service is warm and thoughtful. The room is consistent with the picture, the decoration style is very much liked, the various facilities are beautifully arranged, clean and hygienic, rest assured to stay, good sound insulation, warm air conditioning, slept very well all night, the environment is comfortable and quiet, turn right when you go out, it is the famous Rishengchang Ticket, it is very convenient to visit, the yard environment is very comfortable and open! Experience the slow-paced life and leisurely and comfortable place in the ancient city. The innkeeper is very enthusiastic, comfortable to stay, and a very happy stay experience. Highly recommended!

It is really a quiet place in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Many other inns share the same storefront with photo studios and hotels. The only one who can stay in this location for a good night is Zhonghuixuan. The house is also very beautiful. After looking at many photos of B&Bs, I finally decided on this one.
Serve:
The service is beyond praise. The boss will take you to the city gate, and the ancient city guide is clearly arranged. Get up early and go to bed late just for everyone's safety🔐A bottle of mature vinegar is also given.

AArt13Great place in Pingyao. It is reasonably priced, a bit out of the very center (meaning also out of tourists crowds that can be quite noisy in the evenings and mornings), but still close, has same old-style design as the more popular and well-established places that cater to foreigners, but priced twice as much. Pick-up and drop off service is provided - just contact the hotel in advance via phone using the reception of tour previous hotel - no one speaks English - it will solve your communication issue if you do not speak Chinese. At the place itself everyone is very eager to help - use your phone app to translate. Onwer helped me to buy tickets to Pingyao attractions and Terracota Army as I was heading to Xian next (available only through WeChat Pay that is in turn is not availablefor foreign tourists as of April 2023). If you go to Shuanglin temple, be sure to ask to buy tickets through WeChat for you as well. I was able to buy physical one by pure compassion of local guard who asked the staff to open ticket office just for me (Probably was the only foreigner in Pingyao at a time). Please also note that as of April 2023, the reconstruction works in the historical city parts are continuing, so, large chunks of the city within the walls are not looking as great as it could have been. The very center of the city is mostly untouched though and you can still come and explore. If going in spring, be prepared for the temperature swings. I got a temperature drop from 28C to 3C within 2 days by the moment I got to Pingyao. It was even snowing at night.

SSaucyIf you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic.
It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city.
With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel.
Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time.
I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite.
All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.
