I recently stayed at the Maple House on a two-day getaway in Yilan County with my girlfriend. Service was genuinely caring – the breakfast boxes made available to the guests were nice simple comfy food. The room was good, clean and the WiFi & other features worked well. There are some nice touches such as little cups made-available in the morning to guests for them to feed the pretty fishes in the pond. The garden is well maintained, and the hotel is located nearby rice fields; there is lots of green around! Location is convenient – walking distance to the LuoDong train station (even if the walk by the main road is a bit dangerous without a proper sidewalk.) The property has bikes available for guests and the ride to the beach is about 30min. through very nice bike paths by the river. Highly recommended. Really a lovely destination!

Building is rather new but there is no lift in the building and our room is on the 3rd floor. Our room has no electricity and they tried to fix it up without success. We were transferred to another building and had to go up 3 floors again. They have no power sockets at the bedside. Breakfast is mainly vegetables. Not recommended for old person.

If you want to cook for yourself at night, there are kitchen utensils and chopsticks available. This time I stayed in the Elsa parent-child room. Staff: The staff were friendly, and kept our luggage stored when we checked out. Since I only spoke to them in my terribly broken Mandarin, I don't know how many staff could speak English for foreigners.
Room: Very clean, A/C works very well and isn't too noisy. The bed was large and comfortable. There was water, and tea and coffee - I forgot to look in the fridge.
Bathroom: Most hotels in Jiaoxi have hot spring bathtubs, and so does VASTY. There were plenty of toiletries and towels, flip-flops, slippers and bathrobes. The bath was lovely. Shower did make the entire floor wet, but not slippery.
Other amenities: The rooftop pools (x2) are small, heated to a comfortably warm temperature, and clean enough. There are loungers and chairs. There was a family with two young children playing in one of the pools and taking photos, very cute. Free water, towels and cans of Coca Cola upstairs too!
Breakfast: Buffet style with mostly Asian food, but plenty of choice to help oneself to meats, breads, fruits and vegetables. Tea, coffee, milk and juices. We went downstairs for breakfast at around 9am and had to wait for a few minutes, as there were no tables available.
Overall, we had a wonderful one night getaway in Jiaoxi, and would stay at VASTY again.

IIreneThe location of the hotel is relatively hidden. We just drove in at night, so it was a bit hard to find. But to our surprise, the hotel automatically upgraded us to a top-floor family room with a terrace and a spacious view. In addition, the surrounding environment and landscape of the hotel are very clean and comfortable. , it feels like a vacation 🥰 The room decoration and equipment are a bit older, but the bathroom is surprisingly equipped with a small private hot spring-style bath tub. The bathroom decoration is new and the color selection is stylish, I like it very much! However, the hotel does not provide disposable personal items such as toothbrushes and shower caps. It is recommended to remind guests on the hotel website or when confirming the order. The only biggest drawback is that the mattress is very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. Unfortunately, this has also become a deterrent for me to choose this hotel again next time. The breakfast provided by the hotel is good, simple but satisfying👍

GGuest UserYu Peng Villa was our first and BEST accommodation on this Yilan-Taroko-SML-Alishan road trip. We arrived much later than expected and were relieved that our message to Trip.com got through to the guesthouse. When we drove up to the place (an easy find with GPS), a member of the staff walked up to our car and guided us to the drop off point.
I love the designer vibes of the property which is well maintained with a sizeable garden and plenty of flowers in bloom. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The showers worked and there was hot water. The western-style breakfast was generous in portion and delicious.
Best of all was the hospitality extended to us. It was the only place where we felt truly welcomed on this 8-day trip. The staff here chatted with us, gave advice on places of interest and sent us off with fruit from the orchard. After the great experience here, all the other places we stayed at pale drastically in comparison.
If you're planning to visit the Kavalan Distillery, this place is a great stayover option! Truly a slice of paradise.

錦錦Pleasantly surprised and impressed by the hotel's architectural design and the vast lawn in front of the hotel.
However, with only one receptionist handling the check-in, the process was unbearably slow and took a long time to complete.
Fortunately, when we finally went into our room, we once again were blown away by the spacious room configuration. There were two large beds against the wall, and L-shape sofa couches, with plenty of bay windows surrounding the magnificent room. The bathroom was okay, no Toto. But that’s fine. The gigantic hot spring circling tub was large enough to fit at least four adults. It is equipped with a whirlpool! And there’s a big glass shower room, of course.
The bedding was very comfortable. There are also typical tea and coffee bags with four water bottles and a small fridge. All the expected amenities were provided in the lovely hotel.
Although there are paid afternoon tea facilities at a reasonable price, it didn’t offer to dine for the evening. But I guess it’s understandable since there’re plenty of great restaurants in the JiouSi and Yilan areas.
The breakfast was so so lovely. We’re up late. But the staff did remind us to pick up as much food as we needed before they put them away.
Overall, it’s much better than we expected. We initially thought it might be tacky and exaggerated in its deco. We found this 5-year-old hotel used suitable materials to compose its content. So we liked it and enjoyed it very much. We will come again with our friends. We highly recommend it!

However, the lady is waiting for us outside the gate and bring us to our rooms. She also briefed us on the usage for the shower. All the facilities are fully equipped with amenities, except that the toilet bowl needs to be throughly cleaned as it’s really smells awful, and walls are slightly moldy as if it was not cleaned. There is a 7-eleven store located nearby and quite accessible to eateries nearby. Would consider as it’s quite a restful stay all in all.
