A cozy small guesthouse with fun cabins. For our 2 nights everything was there and we felt very well. Our cabin was well heated and absolutely clean. The small bathroom is functional and the shower is good. There is a refrigerator and a water cooker. On the fourth, it is clearly finished, but it is completely enough for 2 nights. We also ordered breakfast buffet, which was possible for little money. Breakfast was very good and rich. Coffee, tea and juice were included. Our stay in Hodde Kro was very beautiful. I was really looking forward to my 2.5 week stay in Denmark and I was staying in this hotel all of the time. First of all, I cannot fault the staff, they were super friendly and could not do enough to help throughout the stay. Sadly, the hotel was not so pleasant. It is located in the main square in Skjern and opposite the Railway station. Both places are the hang out for the local teenagers and with a bar in the square it is unbelievably noisy from Thursday and over the weekend, with lots of drunks shouting and screaming until 05.00 in the morning. I did not expect total silence but I was shocked just how noisy it is with a window open. The hotel provides ear plugs but even they are useless against the noise. We stayed in October/November which is a quieter period, I can imagine the outside noise being many times worse in the Summer. If you close your window, you face the next problem. The rooms have no ventilation at all. No a/c or way of circulating air. The bathroom has a heated floor which is set at 21 degrees and cannot be adjusted or turned off by you, so the room becomes very uncomfortable. The radiators also are set and after asking for the hotel staff to turn the radiator off, they still came on during the night, making it impossible to sleep. The hotel was full so another room was not possible despite it being requested. We were fortunate to have a bath but after my wife had finished the drain was faulty so the bath emptied over the bathroom floor. we quickly had to run down to the bar and ask for help. They gave us extra towels to soak up the water and said that it would be fixed the next day. After it apparently being fixed, the next bath flooded the floor again and after using more towels to mop up the water, we reported it but knew that is had not been fixed properly because when having a shower, water leaked onto the floor. We gave up reporting it. Some of our friends experienced power cuts on 2 occasions and were less than happy. The rooms have no storage at all. No drawers fore cloths and apart from 4 x hangers on an open rail, that is all you have. This is insufficient for 1 person let alone a couple. The bed is very comfortable, so that helped when we could not sleep due to the noise or the heat! Before we left, we booked a table for 14 people to have a meal in the restaurant. We booked for 19.00 and were asked to look at the menu in advance if possible. There are only 5 choices for the main course (steak, game, burger, vegetarian and a fish dish) and 3 for the starter. 4 hours before we were due to sit down, we were informed that we must make our choices by 17.00. This was not well received because some were uncontactable but we tried our best. 2 hours before, we were informed by a note left outside our room that the meal had been brought forward to 18.30. This was impossible to relay to all due their whereabouts. It resulted in one of the group, walking in from work and immediately having to sit down in work clothes. Th

We stayed at Hestkaer Family Rooms in June 2023 for 3 nights. English Family of 4, kids aged 6 & 12. We chose to stay in one of the school themed apartment rooms with a private bathroom and kitchenette. This was the first flight abroad due to Covid etc for our 6 year old and first time any of us had been to Denmark. The flight is only 1hr 25mins from UK. We booked just the week before, direct flights with Ryanair & booked the accommodation direct with Hestkaer Family Rooms for the best price. What a surprisingly good success! Hestkaer Family Rooms is great for families with children. The owner Christian is a great guy, friendly and helpful. Our flight was delayed so we arrived late but a short taxi ride to the accommodation with no problems. First day we explored the many inclusive facilities at Hestkaer Family Rooms. Trampolines, crazy golf, badminton, kids go carts, skateboards, climbing frames, kids zip wire, animals -rabbits goats pigs, Lego, games room with pool table, air hockey table, darts, Nintendo & PlayStation games & kids even watched the annoying YouTube nonsense that they like on TV etc etc etc there is loads of things to choose from. We bought supplies for breakfast and lunches from the local supermarket which is 15min walk. The bus stop is also nearby to the supermarket. We travelled by bus (easy, clean & cheap) throughout the rest of our stay. (just check timetable ahead) We ate out for tea in Grinstead which was a short bus ride. away. Then back to relax and enjoy the facilities again at Hestkaer Family Rooms. Day two we visited Legoland (brilliant & not crowded), took a packed lunch with us that we'd made up at the family rooms. We stopped off again in the town of Grinstead for pizzas for tea then bus again back to Hestkaer Family Rooms. Day three, checkout at 11am, paid Christian for the bedding and towels and then we enjoyed the facilities again at Hestkaer Family Rooms for the rest of our last day. We used the communal kitchen and dining room on this last day as we were welcome to stay until we left by bus for the airport for a late flight home. Hestkaer Family Rooms is an informal, relaxed hostel which felt safe for our kids to explore and we could easily find them when we were ready to go out. We played pool, air hockey and relaxed with a glass of wine (just remember to buy it from the supermarket) while the kids enjoyed everything. Hestkaer Family Rooms is not a hotel with fluffy bathrobes and chocolate on the pillow but it is an old school that's now being used for families as a great base whilst visiting Denmark. Denmark was lovely and clean and we only met nice people. We recommend Hestkaer Family Rooms and would love to return and explore more of Denmark. We had stayed the apartment, double room with 1 double bed and two single beds, living with 2 single beds, kitchen and bathroom, the apartment is located in a ground floor, it has a air exchange guaranteed by a fan that I made it go all day to shut it off the night, windows are there and you can open , it has a good heating (to open little or really become too hot), The hotel has all the comforts (oven, microwave, washing machine), includes both the handcuffs and the bedrooms, I would say there is everything you need. The home owner Bjarne is very available for anything, always ready for every vs request. Obligatory to have the car to reach it (25 km from airport billund), private parking available. A sand and a jumping tape are available outside, and a gas barbecue is also available. nearby a nice playground, two supermarkets of food (with pre-packed foods to warm), distributor, Restaurants (including for hiking)
