We felt very welcome in Rafael and Anna's castle. Room small but clean and had everything we needed. Only the shower cubicle was very cramped, but we just fit in it across. Fresh towels and room cleaning daily. Enjoyed Anna's cooking twice. Menu simple but tasteful

Currently coming to the end of my stay, what a great stay it was, I wasn't expecting much, I just wanted a cheap short break away in the sun, I was pleasantly surprise. Firstly as a female solo traveller, I was a little nervous, but the friendly reception made me feel welcome and safe I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a Sea view which was a lovely touch as I was celebrating my Birthday. Beaches are beautiful, shallow waters ideal for little ones, a lovely beach restaurant that I used daily for lunch, reasonable prices (Pizza and a drink 13 euros) All the staff were so friendly and hard working, nothing was to much, considering the hotel closes soon for the season, they remained upbeat. Should you want to venture out there are shops,a supermarket and restaurants all within walking distance. I booked an Island excursion which was a great way to explore Menorca stress free .You can book ticket's at the same place as you exchange money, which is by the supermarket opposite hotel entrance, (follow signs, slightly down some steps) it cost £32 we were picked up at 8.45am back 6ish. The your guide was called Rafael, he owns and runs the business, as he has done for over 50 years! he is so passionate. You could join group lunch for 17 euros for a set menu, I did my own thing found a lovely cafe Back to the hotel, there is evening entertainment, a small kids park, I think 3 pools, lots of areas to chill, the main clientele at the time of my stay were Spanish, as Oct seems to be a popular time for locals to go on vacation, I quite like that, felt like you were actually in Spain The only thing I think that could do with improvement is the food,breakfast was fine, normal sausages, bacon, waffles, pastries etc, unfortunately dinner let it down a little as more of a canteen feel, quite bland, lots of beige. I did HB as it was a minimal extra cost, however I'd probably stick to BB in future, it may have just been me due to being vegetarian, however I did hear other guests grumble. As I mentioned there is the beach restaurant, and restaurants within the vicinity so plenty of other choices. All in all I would definitely stay here again, you couldn't fault the staff, the beach, the atmosphere, the pool, given all the positives I can oversee the canteen 😁 Ps Airport was about 30mins away, I booked transfers with Shuttle direct online, as you come out of departures turn left, the desk advise ETA, on return you just scan your QR code, (also shows return time on confirmation they had you on arrival)

Lots of flies over all food left out for the buffet so only ate from grill but several times the meat that was on our plate was not cooked- still raw so we didn’t eat it. This was chicken and pork. Food not great at all. Even the lunchtime food to purchase was not great- very expensive and pizza fell apart. Staff didn’t seem to want to be there and weren’t particularly helpful from people running restaurant to reception, certainly didn’t want to go above and beyond to help or accommodate… Mini club was not good - lacked enthusiasm for mini disco so kids did their own thing… Room was large and clean- cleaning staff did well Swimming pools are lovely and did a great job at cleaning them each day Most importantly we paid for a superior room but were told they are all the same- I don’t believe this but we certainly didn’t get a superior room so would question marketing as I didn’t feel we got what we paid for. Wouldn’t rush back to this company hotel.
