After a long drive through the heat, we were glad to arrive at a hotel with air-conditioning! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also of good quality. Overall, the quality was good, except for the food at the restaurant (dinner) which was really of very low quality and I would certainly not recommend this. A salad was served in a kind of metal deep bowl, similar to the drinking or eating bowls for dogs. The salad itself was a strange mix of salad and greasy meat. We also ordered a ”brochette Atlantique”. This was apparently based on some frozen fish blocks which had been thawed (or steamed) and were almost tasteless. This was combined with some dry rice and a minuscule amount of sauce. Not being a cook, I could have prepared this so much better.

Two rooms in August, we used it as a base to turn a few days between the castles of the Loire. It is a perfect base: it is not in Tours-city (it is several kilometres south, you have to reach it by car), but it is exactly on the highway that links the area of Chenonceau and Azay le Rideau to the west, Villandry and Chinon and east the area of Blois, Amboise, Chambord ... The area of the hotel itself is also interesting because there is virtually a Auchan hypermarket next to it and - like in any commercial periphery - find restaurants and shops. For example, we have eaten very well from Léon de Bruxelles just two steps, and also a great Burger King. It is a classic Ibis recently, with a structure that might remind the one of a US motel: long and low (only two floors), very large parking. A really large and well-organised room (although, as in all the Ibis of the recent generation, without a closet, for a stick attached to a stick), a great bathroom. Excellent breakfast for both the salt and the sweet part; coffee of course for machine, but acceptable. Cold staff, but not annoying. Price is not bad (88 euro per night, but having booked many months before)

A deux pas des autoroutes, c'est un bon plan pour faire une étape lors d'un long trajet. Côté hôtel, c'est une chambre rénovée (pas fana de la nouvelle déco vert pomme et des lumière rouges, mais pas essentiel). Pour le reste on retrouve l'architecture d'une chambre Campanile classique avec son grand volet roulant, son entrée, son grand lit confortable, sa salle d'eau de taille correcte (mais avec des bruits de canalisation). Le petit plus Campanile : la bouilloire et les 2 madeleines qui permet de se faire un petit encas. Côté demi pension, le buffet d'entrée n'est pas extraordinaire. Par contre, en plat on nous a servi un délicieux saumon, mais dommage qu'on ne nous ai pas proposé un choix de cuisson (pas assez rosé pour moi). Le buffet de desserts est tout à fait correct. Service sympathique. Côté petit déj, le buffet est top avec de bons croissants et des oranges pour se faire un vrai jus, et globalement beaucoup de choix. Personnel efficace et serviable.

Nice staff, clean room (even a bit too strong on the smell of the cleansing stuff! ;-), and especially NO noise on the parking area side. (Only some people in the room above or not far started hollering around at half past one in the morning, but someone apparently banged on their door and ordered them to stop). Only the shower had a problem: it was very hard to turn on/off the taps and it took me at least five minutes to balance cold and hot. before I could actually have a shower. In the morning, my next-door neighbour asked for help because he couldn't turn off the burning hot water! Also, in my own room, the ring supporting the shower head was broken (fortunately I am not tall!). So, apart from the shower problem, it was quiet, clean and nice!

Stayed one night. Chosen for distance from ferry and cost. Stayed in this chain previously. Basic room. Comfortable bed. Good bathroom with decent shower. Wifi worked well. Great for an overnight stop. Restaurant very close (recommended by receptionist) was good - see separate review

The hotel is suitable for self-driving tours, and it is more difficult to reach without a car. The hotel is very clean, it is better to sleep and it is quiet at night. There is a huge Chinese buffet 500 meters near the hotel.
