Since I discovered this little gem of a hotel, I never go anywhere else when visiting the area on business! The rooms are clean and pleasant and the bar is a delight. The food is always good pub fare but best of all is the atmosphere, thanks to a lovely group of staff who are always welcoming and accommodating. Special shout out to Connor at the bar who goes above and beyond to make his customers happy! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Rebooked this year for the 2nd time after a lovely time last year and we won't be booking again. We are a group of 20+ people and last year the hotel was so accommodating, but this year was so disappointing. We had a private function room hire and last year we was allowed alcohol for after the bar closed around 10pm. Nothing was said this year about it not being allowed, instead the hotel staff ”confiscated” this in the early hours of the morning on Friday and held it until Sunday as if we were naughty children. It was completely untouched and unopened and not an excessive amount. Some cans of lager. A lot of the group have flown in from Europe with hand luggage only, so cannot take it home. We asked if we could have it to put in our cars as we wanted to go for a picnic and they said no and kept it. They said if alcohol was found in our rooms there would be further consequences, so not sure if they were planning on ransacking & searching rooms. We understand that no means no. A simple conversation would have been suffice, instead they stole belongings and bags. We were as transparent as last year. It was very visible on the table in the function room, it wasnt a secret thing. They even delivered glasses and shot glasses last year, so it clearly wasnt an issue. We were still putting hundreds and hundreds behind the bar. We are a group of online friends. We spend the weekend catching up and playing a few games in the private room. Its not an 18 to 30's rave 🙄. The manager has been nowhere to be seen all weekend, instead leaving the 2 staff to fend for themselves whilst running reception, the bar and sorting food, often resulting in long waits for people wanting to check in or get a drink. The bar staff were very inexperienced, which shows that she is quite literally throwing them in at the deep end and hoping that they don't drown. There wasn't enough stock, resulting in running out of bottled beer and cider very early into the weekend, which wasn't ideal when the draft lager and Guinness smelled and tasted of rotten egg. Their solution to this was just pouring another pint. We overheard other customers complaining of the same issue. There was also plastic in my drink which i almost swallowed (I'm assuming from ice cube bags). We had a prebooked meal package but they didn't count meals properly meaning one of our group had to wait a very long time for his meal to be cooked separately. By the time it had arrived everyone had finished eating their mains. Food quality has gone down whilst prices have increased. The bedsheets were covered in blood and there was no heating in the bedroom, so the room was always freezing. Management have become too greedy. Their loss. They've just lost an easy £9k+ in bookings and drinks over the weekend 🫠 maybe sge should commiserate with a pint of eggy ale 🍺
Staff were very professional and friendly. Breakfast was good, though there are meat alternatives for vegetarians if that is important to you. The room itself was quite nice.
The problem was the specific room we were given. Room 109 (and I assume many of the other rooms on the first floor) is right above the bar. Both nights we were disrupted by noises. On the Thursday, live music was playing very loudly from 8pm until past 10pm. Being directly above the bar, the music was incredibly disruptive! On Friday, music began at 10pm. I actually called reception at 11:30pm as the music hadn't stopped. They were very apologetic and said they would get the music turned off straight away (which they did), as it should have turned off at 11pm. While I appreciate how quickly the issue was resolved once I complained, it's poor that the hotel allows loud music to play until such a late time. I appreciate it was a Friday night, but I was working the next day, and the noise both nights really disrupted my sleep. The fan/heating unit was also so loud that we could not use it. I had a discount on the room, but I would have been incredibly disappointed if I had paid full price.

Stayed for a couple of days whilst we visited local historical sites. Room was excellent as was the pool and general facilities. Was surprised the bar evening menu is the same as the main restaurant - seems little point in not availing oneself of the restaurant since it is much nicer and costs nothing more! Many thanks to the bar staff (who sang happy birthday) and Rieann and Ionda in the restaurant for their friendly service.
Other than the location (on the University of Warwick campus itself) the hotel is at best like a Premier Inn or other such budget hotel. It feels and looks like a dorm. One note to anyone walking from campus to hotel: there is no direct access from Arts Centre plaza. You have to walk all the way around business school to access car park. This was very inconvenient in the rain as it added a 5 mins walk.
The room was spacious and clean, though the bathroom sink was clogged when I checked in. Resolved the next day (though the first answer I received when asking for repair was that I may have to move). On second night the hearing went out; housekeeping brought a small radiator heater… no repairman came, however. Resolved the next day.
The food was cafeteria quality (both breakfast and dining room). I recommend eating elsewhere. Bar was ok, but not great.
Overall, I would recommend a different hotel for the price, and taking a cab to campus. Sorry
We were able to check in at 3.00pm. Room was very nice, slippers and robes provided and the tea/coffee facilities had the added benefit of a coffee machine. Bed was very comfy and warm with lovely pillows. Breakfast was good. Everything there that you would expect, cooked well and hot. We were a little disappointed though on the morning of departure when we attempted to get the lift down to reception only to find when it arrived that the maids trolley had been placed in there so we had to use the stairs. This caused a problem for my husband who suffers with his hip. Secondly, on leaving we were not informed that the barrier was open. We saw the sign in the car park saying we needed to get a token from reception, so we drove back and went in to reception to ask, only to be informed we didn’t need one. It would have been helpful to have had this information on checkout. Other than this everything else was good
