We're staying in the Grand Park hotel, where we always stay during our holidays. On Friday, we needed to see the vet for our cat, that we brought with us to the hotel, because she wasn't feeling well for the last 2 days and seemed like she was ill. We called the vet, and he told us to come to the clinic immediately but we only had ten minutes left, before they would close . We didn't know the way and we needed someone to drive us with our car to the clinic quickly. When we got to our car, we asked for help at the reception but no one took their time to help us, except Rikardo, who was very kind and helpful, as he was the only one to take his time to drive us there, ”saving us” in that stressful situation. When we arrived at the vet, he helped carry the cats cage to the waiting room, where he waited with my daughter until the cats examination was finished, then drove us back to the hotel. Such service, care and kidness on his part is unforgettable to us, we are very lucky to have met a person like Rikardo during our stay. Aljoška Joksimovič and Nia Gasperič, Slovenia

This place is amazing! There is so much to do for kids here but they have also thought of the adults too. Outdoors there are the multiple pools including a lazy river, a deeper pool where adults tend to go, a kids pool with slide and a shaded splash pool for toddlers. There are also multiple play areas outside, ping pong tables, volley ball net and large hotel grounds where you can use the scooters which can be hired for free from the kids area. Down at the beach they have a water sports centre, we hired a pedalo, kayak, paddle board and e-scooter and prices are reasonable. Indoors the blue net is amazing, there is a football table and the cinema has a floor projector so kids can play in there too. Cinema shows movies in different languages over the week and had 2 English movies whilst we were there. The game room was one of our favourite places to go, they have PC’s, switches, PS5’s and lots of games. The staff were always great in there (especially Borna) and over 8’s can get a pass to come and go on their own. We joined in with Mario kart tournaments, robot coding and remote control racing, there was lots of activities that can be booked. The kids club is great, it feels very secure and they have lots of activities only thing is they advertise certain activities but when we went they didn’t always do them. The room was great, enough space to live in and although we would have preferred a bath the shower was very powerful but tended to flood the floor. The peg board in the room kept us busy, great addition for kids to be amused whilst back at the room. Kettle and small tea station available in the room but no English tea included. Food wise they had a brilliant selection for every meal, we loved the smoothies that were freshly made at breakfast, the kids station provided chips, chicken nuggets etc and the food was of a great quality. We particularly loved the cat robot who would take your dirty plates away. The only issue we had as a family with allergies was that although they had signs out showing allergens they were not reliable. There would be signs missing, signs moved and signs not relating to the items there. We had some food that I would have guaranteed did not contain certain allergens but stated it did, there was items that did not state certain allergens but named them in the title of the food and some items would state allergens one day but the following day the same item would change signs and add or remove allergens. There was a sign stating to speak to staff regarding allergies which would have been good if it was a severe allergy but for many people this is not the case. The staff in the food area were so good, always clearing plates and cleaning tables. Drinks are available to buy but water, coke and juice were all free at meal times. Overall I would highly recommend this place, it’s an incredible experience for families.

The rooms are clean and spacious, with oversized balconies. The hotel has a variety of facilities, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, saunas, gyms, SPA, etc., while looking at the sea and the forest, it is actually very suitable for a few days on vacation. We left for one night after visiting Rovinj and it was a pity

The hotel has its own restaurant, where breakfast is served, ok. The bed is large and there is no extra bed in the room, but there is a large sofa. The location is good, just beside the pier, the old town is right next to it. The hotel offers free parking but stops in another location. The hotel will help you park your car, and the hotel will have a car to the parking lot. The rooms are clean and tidy, with many warm arrangements, such as room perfumes and small snacks. Recommended.

A welcome return visit & despite a gap of a few years it was just as good as ever. Staff & service impeccable. So courteous & efficient throughout, from room attendants through to pool/beach staff and dining staff. Nothing was too much trouble. No wonder this hotel features in “The Leading Hotels of the World” group. Rooms- spotless with daily servicing, replenishment of drinks & towels etc. Extras supplied as requested eg iron. Pool area/ beach area- all services excellent with very welcome treats during our very hot stay ie- ice cold face towels & chilled melon on sticks poolside. Restaurants- we only booked B&B. Special mention of breakfast which is served buffet style though hot items can be ordered too at no extra cost.. I cannot think of any items that were omitted.Huge selection of fresh fruits, cold meats, cheeses, home made breads, muffins & sweet bakery as well as usual cereals. Freshly squeezed fruit juices & delicious comb honey & jams. Also gluten free, dairy free & vegan options available too. This daily breakfast set you up for rest of the day until our evening meal. No lunch required! Situation of hotel is a leisurely, & very pleasant walk away from the town of Rovinj itself along the coastal esplanade. On the “level ground” throughout so easy for guests with mobility issues or using mobility aides. Endless varied restaurants, cafes & shops in Rovinj town itself & available to suit all price ranges. Scenery gorgeous particularly the evening sunsets . Special mention of the gelataria “shops” in town. Ice creams scrumptious!! One suggestion for hotel rooms- while you could download a hotel App we did find it difficult to access “in house” telephone extension numbers for the different departments in hotel eg spa, concierge. It would be useful for rooms to have a directory of these phone numbers or for these to be available on room TV’s. Thanks for a very memorable & relaxing holiday. We will be back!

We made the right decision to take our first trip to Croatia, the right decision to visit Istria, the right decision to stay in Rovinj & absolutely hit the bullseye with Residence Vaal. This is an absolute gem of a property & Denis, Aleksandra and their team, particularly Laura & Aleksandar, could not have done more to make our trip a thoroughly enjoyable one, & to ensure that we want to hurry back. Residence Vaal is extremely comfortable, well equipped and almost surgically clean. The setting, slightly away from the centre of town is peaceful, & it's ideally placed for Cuvi beach. The breakfasts are fresh, varied and generous, and offer a great selection with home-baked daily delicacies. The pool area is an oasis of peace, with added hydromassage! All these tangible attributes are practically perfect, but what really made our trip was the extremely friendly, uber helpful and above-and-beyond service. I cannot recommend Residence Vaal highly enough!

Lovely stay at Hotel Angelo d'Oro in Roving. We were in a 4th floor apartment accessible only by stairs but the hotel carried our bags up and down. The stairs were a workout but we had a lovely view from our room. The location of the hotel is very convenient and the property is charming with an interior courtyard/terrace where breakfast is served and where guests can relax. Clean room, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The breakfast was also very good.
