This restaurant and its family staff was incredible and, to show that, we ended up coming here 4 separate times over a day-and-a-half period to do everything from enjoy some evening drinks, have a few meals, play mini-golf, free of charge, on their course right outside, to having my son play his first game of pool and sink his first-ever shot to the way they turned on their huge television and allowed him to watch himself on a YouTube video he just made, to playing darts (that were cleaned for us) on their multiple dartboards. The food - Icelandic Soup, amazing burgers - filled our stomachs and the hosts genuinely wanted to speak to us wherever we were in the restaurant, and they answered so many of our questions re: our first 2 weeks traveling through the country. They were Lonely Planet's with smiles and great personalities. I would give this restaurant the highest rating I have ever given a restaurant. The food is wonderful. The family is absolutely lovely. Thumbs up with all of the thumbs I can find:)

This is a port in the eastern part of Iceland where you can wash your clothes! From the capital of western Iceland, it is just the middle point of travel. The clothes accumulated in a few days can be washed and dried before going to bed at night. Pay 1600 Icelandic coins (krona), use it casually. The one in front of me needs 4,000 Icelandic coins to wash once.

Just want to warn people, as I believe the reviews are fake. No one was at reception at 5 in the afternoon. Finding parking near the building is almost impossible. Bathroom is bizarre, with a thin shower curtain that sticks to your rear end, and right next to the toilet so the seat and floor are always soaked. Fire alarms at 6:30 am. And the single worst restaurant meal I've ever had, nearly I edible and took forever, and super expensive. I feel sorry for the staff, but even sorrier for the guests. If you do get trapped here, avoid the restaurant at all costs and go for the gas station hot dogs instead. There is no place else to eat in town.
