Hotel Hakone Suimeisou is a perfect blend of old tradition and modern Japan. This hotel provides an excellent experience of Japanese hospitality. It is in the most convenient location and serves as a take-off point to the rest of the Hakone region. The Hakone Yumoto Station is only a few minutes walk and there are so many places to eat and shop within the area. The hotel is designed as a traditional Ryokan inn and provides traditional Japanese hospitality with rooms that are clean and well-designed. Make sure to experience the full service by availing of the breakfast and dinner service in your rooms. There are bountiful seafood dishes that are provided for each meal. Take advantage as well of the onsen (natural hot spring) facilities. There are touches of modern amenities in the hotel to make you feel comfortable. I commend the staff for their excellent service and will definitely come back in the future.

The apartment is located about 10 minutes walk from Hakone Yumoto station. Check in instructions was easy. The rooms were big and comfortable. Kitchen was a useful size, only thing is the ports and pans were slightly dirty.

interesting balinese onsen ryokan. service was great, i couldn’t take raw food and my husband is allergic to prawns and they took notice for it and didn’t serve them during our half board meals (breakfast and dinner). the onsen water is certified to be natural and we could read the details of the certification from both the hotel reception and room toilet.
the private in room open air onsen’s temperature can be adjusted as well.
however the room’s shower’s door was not completely sealed and we found it very chilly to bathe even tho there was hot water supplied as the constant cold air from outside would come in. hope the hotel can take note of this and seal up the showering area’s door completely to prevent air from exchanging during shower.
it’s a jap-balinese fusion hotel, pretty interesting concept.
we drove during our trip around hakone area and be ready to navigate through very small and narrow roads while driving to this ryokan haha. really very narrow roads. hotel also requested for us to pass them the car key when we returned to the hotel, and to pass them the hotel key when we are heading out, which we found to be a little weird to be honest.

Good location and view of the lake, very close to the bus, ferry and cable car station. Very cozy and with well decorated design. Staff are very nice. Buffet dinner is perfect, very good sashimi bowl rice. Good onsen.

We stayed at the Hakone Hotel as part of a tour group. We had a spacious twin room with a view over the garden and part of Lake Ashi. The room spotlessly clean and was very comfortable. We had a comfortable chair and a comfortable 2 seater couch as well as comfortable beds. In the morning we had a beautiful clear view of Mt Fuji from the grounds of the hotel. We had a delicious included dinner at the hotel as well as a good buffet breakfast. There was a capsule coffee/tea maker in the room that I tried with Earl Grey Tea which was a bit strong for my taste.

One of the nicest hotel I've been to so far! The buffet breakfast selections are crazy, crabs for breakfast? Count me in! From my room, there's a crazy view of the Hakone valleys especially during sunsets.
The staff are very nice people who provided the best for my stay. I was celebrating my anniversary with my partner and they offered a free pass to the bar & lounge.
Would definitely come again the next time.

Style. Taisho era traditional onsen Setting. Hakone Suishoen is a cultural property that belonged to the Mitsui family, built 1925 Explore. Hakone. Was here late October, Hakone is a beautiful area and it is almost autumn foliage season Rooms. 23 rooms on the property surrounded by old maple trees and bamboos. Two beds in room Hananome. Sisley amenities. Large shower area that steps out into the outdoor onsen which faces the trees, found it to be truly restorative as I felt a bit beaten down when I arrived. Complimentary mini bar (except for the champagne and Macallan). Dark wood furnishings in my room looked dated and room had very little windows and natural light @ the hotel. great service throughout my stay, although strange to be served welcome tea in a paper cup. Didn’t try the public onsen. High quality souvenirs in the restaurant and lobby shop. Meals in the gorgeous historic Mitsui property Food and drinks Excellent traditional kaiseki dinner and breakfast in a private room in the historic Mitsui residence (aka restaurant Momiji). Built 1925 but still comfortable (ie floor heating) I was in Japan for three nights and while this was not a Michelin restaurant ( tried a few during this trip ), dinner here was my favorite and my comfort food. I kept on thinking about how food is functional medicine and this place hit the spot Prices. Moderate $662 as included a delicious dinner and breakfast Rating. 4/5 ( everything was perfect except for the welcome drink in a paper cup and my room’s decor/lighting )

I was seeking a ryokan with private onsens and the willingness to accommodate my primarily vegetarian dietary habits. I chose Hakone Gora Byakudan and was extremely pleased in every single way. We were a little on the early side (around 2:00 in the afternoon) when we asked someone at an information desk by Gora Station to please call the ryokan and ask if they could pick us up (as we had been instructed). Within 5 minutes we were picked up and brought to the beautiful ryokan, removing our shoes upon entry. The room was fantastic. We were in ”hako”, just off the lobby. The space was perfect! And we loved the privacy of the onsen. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a small private dining room. They indeed served me a vegetarian meal with many courses. My husband had some meat or fish in his meal and they provided us each with separate printed out menus. It was truly fantastic!

On Friday, I had a break, so I hurriedly booked a plan for staying without meals. It is a mountain room in the pond building, within 1 Person 1 10,000 yen. In the evening 17 I arrived at half past half, but the shops near Hakone Yumoto Station were almost closed. The correct answer was that I was procuring side dishes in the basement of the department store in Shinjuku. The convenience store was open. There are liquor stores and Lawson near the inn. The garden was an invisible room, but it was wide 々 and the scenery was good and I could see the mountains. The cleaning was well done. The futon is a style that you lay yourself, but I was grateful that you were prepared for a split, plate, and glass, probably because of the consideration for guests staying without meals. Coffee and tea were also set. It was good that the large communal bath and the bath in the room were both hot springs. The room was a unit bath, but I didn't really care. The next morning I took a walk in the large garden. I was able to relax. Hakone Yumoto is close to 80 minutes from Shinjuku, and I think it is an affordable plan for train fares and accommodation plans for inns of this class. I want to go to stay again when I have time.

I booked a room immediately after seeing the Chinese service at the front desk. This is great for a Chinese like me who is going abroad for the first time and doesn't know Japanese or English and can't communicate deeply. It gets dark too early in Japan this season. It was dark when we came out of the museum. Fortunately, we contacted the front desk and the front desk suggested that we take a taxi to the hotel. It was dark when we arrived at the hotel. The hotel is on the mountain, with good vegetation, great air and quietness. The room is Japanese style. The style of the whole room is great, large and clean. There are also kimono bathrobes when checking in. I learned to wear them after following the video for a long time. I seem to be able to do it a little bit😄The hotel supervisor is a ********* compatriot, and the front desk ladies are super enthusiastic. They also drove us to buy food and talked to us about many local customs and food, as well as the hotel's future design and planning. I am looking forward to the next visit. At night, we took a private bath, which was very comfortable and private. The mask in the private bath is really super easy to use, so I took a piece away...☺Hehe...
The next day, the supervisor brother and sister sent us to take the bus and told us where to go and what to eat. It was really a great experience. Next time, I will bring my parents to this hotel. Not only is the environment good and hygienic, but the people are also super nice😊

GGuest UserA very satisfactory hot spring hotel. I haven't stayed in other hotels so I can't compare them. But from my personal experience, the food is delicious and the service is good (although there are some language barriers, only one guy speaks fluent English, but they are all very warm and responsible). The biggest disadvantage may be that the location is a bit remote, which is not so convenient for tourists. But the price also reflects it~ But there is a bus stop at the door and you can take the tour pass, so it can still be overcome. I strongly recommend that you must experience the one-night stay and two-meals. The experience is full. Two rich Japanese meals. There are two hot springs, which are open alternately in the morning and evening. There are not many people. It is so comfortable to soak in the hot spring in the semi-outdoor area in the cold wind in winter.

GGuest UserHad a large Japanese style room on the fifth floor. The place is characterful and the onsens feel original and charming. Being in our 60's futons and dining on the floor was probably not the best choice. There is no restaurant or bar so you dine in your room. There are a lot of courses, maybe 10, for both breakfast and dinner served in batches of about 3 at a time. We really enjoyed dinner the first night but less so the second - there is no choice so the individual dishes are to your taste or not. We didn't enjoy breakfast which is more like a small meal and not to our taste. The building is up on the side of a hill and the whole area in very hilly so not easily walkable. We had a car and went on the cablecar up to the lake.

CCielYukiThe soundproofing effect of this hotel is very good and the room was very quiet, which allowed me to have a good rest. The service attitude of the hotel staff was very good, warm and thoughtful, and made me feel very welcome. The location of the hotel is also very good, with convenient transportation and many attractions and restaurants nearby. All in all, I like this hotel very much and highly recommend it!

AAnonymous UserI had a very nice and decent experience staying at Yumoto Fujiya Hotel. Not only was it near the Yumoto station, it was also with numerous choices of restaurants where you could enjoy lunches / dinners. It was particular meaningful to me as you can rarely see restaurants opened outside after 6pm, and i was super hungry at that time. But it’s better to reserve earlier if you decide to have dinner inside the hotel.
The room was clean, though not spacious enough (but it’s very common in Japan). The onsen was also nice which opened until 1am at night. Overall, it was a great experience.

GGuest UserThis ryokan is perfect for people who want to experience ryokan for the first time but want something cheaper within Hakone area. Situated on the main road with buses to Owakudani and train to Odawara. I'd recommend catching the bus from Odawara to this ryokan since the walking trail from the closest station to this place is hilly and has lots of stairs. Main road is not very luggage friendly so pack very light when you're staying here.
This place has very nice rooms with view to the river behind it. The view is spectacular when the entire river area is covered in red autumn leaves. Dinner and breakfast are very delicious, you will be served a range of traditional food from a la carte to dessert. You can also book your private indoor onsen FOR FREE. The ryokan also has an open outdoor onsen across the bridge for 3000 JPY.
The only downside of this place is the main road is very busy as it's the only way for people to drive from Odawara to Owakudani. So local people take this road to get to Owakudani. Buses from this place will not stop at there in the weekend. Your best plan is to go to Lake Ashi first and take the opposite route to Owakudani instead. Plan your trip in this area very carefully because a bus trip that would take 10-15 minutes will end up taking you 1 to 1.5 hours.

GGuest UserI visited for free. Although there are some negative points due to the old facilities, it is a price range that is easy to visit when you want to come to the hot springs, and the quality of the hot springs is not bad, so it is a new and fashionable facility, to stay without seeking gorgeousness. I thought I was there. Personally, according to the hotel rules, you can go back and forth in the bath with sandals in the room, so I think sandals have dirt on the shoes on the outside, but there are no other footwear in the room. I was worried about the aging of the washroom and the bus, because the boundary between the foot and the non-smoking area seemed vague, including the cleaning staff.

GGuest UserI visited for a walk in the morning at the location adjacent to Hakone Shrine. Lots of green. A promenade full of flowers. A promenade on the shore of the lake. You can see Mt. Fuji beautifully, and you can also see pirate ships passing through Lake Ashino. The silence as if time had stopped. The chirping of small birds is comfortable. I was surprised to stay at a resort where the speaker was wired, but I don't need such a small work here. Hotel to enjoy hotel stay. The customer feels like a repeater is quite, a little elegant and noisy, old, gentlemen, ladies 々. It's not a place for noisy young people to go. The food was a long-established hotel, so I chose Western food. There were many reviews that Japanese food was good, but because it is a hotel, the food is elegant and a little on a large plate. Is delicious. I wonder if it's not enough, but it's enough. Upgrade of main dishes that are common in cheap hotels these days. It was also here. The course was changed to Hoho meat grilled Wagyu beef steak and brand beef steak. The chef served hoho meat, so I didn't change it, but it was an elaborate grill, but after all, hoho meat was hoho meat. I should have upgraded. It's a simple story, but I think the main dish is Japanese beef steak without discounting. 〇〇 Great deal at sale! I will stay there because the guide will come from the travel site, but I feel that every hotel is having a hard time with the main. Then, I wish I had stopped selling. The ladies I met in the hall were highly praised for Japanese food. Next time, if I can come to the flowering season, I would like to try a Japanese restaurant.

GGuest UserThis was a luxurious stay for us. The room was large and very comfortable, the private bath was wonderful, the buffet breakfast was delicious (and offers a variety for vegetarians); in fact, it was our favorite part of our trip and we wish we could have stayed longer. The downside is the hotel dinner is expensive and not suitable for vegetarians, so the hike down the hill daily for meals (and then back up it) was a bit tiresome. Definitely book the free shuttle service to and from the hotel especially if you have luggage, the “hill” it is on is in fact several steep inclines that are difficult for those less than moderately fit. Another highlight was the hotel’s commitment to honoring the UN SDGs and striving to reduce plastic waste. There’s absolutely no reason in this day and age for people not to travel with their own toothbrush and combs. If you happen to need such amenities, they are available for nominal fees, barely worth complaining over, as many reviews did. This hotel may be pricey, but it’s so worth it, and they’re doing some good for the earth, so the stay comes with more feel good feelings. We are already planning our next stay here.

This was my first experience at a ryokan. I am so glad that my sister booked a traditional ryokan with a private Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. We also had our own onsen in the room. It was so very relaxing and beautiful. The whole experience put me back into the days of old Japan. I would love to stay here again! The staff does not speak much English but they do use a translator tool that makes it easy to converse and understand. The food was amazing! The sleep was amazing. The room was spacious and accommodated 4 adults. The onsen was so relaxing. The lobby and ryokan is gorgeous and well upkept! We did stay in a newly renovated room-Zuisan. They are very accommodating to your every need. I truly felt like I was in Old Japan. I want to go back again soon. (note: I will update with photos later as there are so many)
