The hotel was in a good location as we were visiting family who live nearby. Nice outlook over the water. The room was perfectly adequate for the time we were there but I suggest that the bedding could be updated with a more modern duvet. Toothbrush and paste and comb were provided along with body soap, shampoo and conditioner. Coffee and tea were available at any time. Japanese breakfast was provided but it was identical for the three days we were there - some variety would have been appreciated. A basic English breakfast of toast, jam and fruit could have been offered catering more to the taste of foreign tourists. The reception team were very helpful with translations on their phone. The flight of stairs with a suitcase was somewhat daunting!

I stayed at this hotel because it was close to the Otsuka Museum of Art. I took a local bus from Tokushima Airport to the hotel, and the bus stop was right in front of the hotel, so it was very convenient. I chose the buffet plan for dinner, so I had to go to the sister hotel, the Grand Hotel, but they gave me a ride there and back. The Naruto Straits could be seen from the room, so I enjoyed the view. I had breakfast early, and my plan was to go directly to the Otsuka Museum of Art, but the Naruto whirlpools were just at high tide, so I walked to the high-speed tide observation boat dock and got on the Uzushio. After that, I walked to the museum and spent the day there, but I think I was able to enjoy sightseeing in Naruto because I was able to stay at Taimaru Kurage.
