Everything is so incredible here. The view is super super beautiful. Meals here are semi buffet for dinner and buffet for breakfast with variety of choice. Recommended though it’s quite pricy.
This is the first use. Stayed at my wife's birthday celebration. 3 F Japanese-Western style room with open-air bath in the East Building. I arrived earlier than 15:00 at check-in, but he passed me to the room early. When you attach the car, you will leave the car to the person in charge. You can see Lake Toya from the room. The large communal bath is located in Nishikan 3 F. There is a little distance, but it was saved because it was on the same floor. There is a sauna, so first go to the public bath. It was full, but it was vacant and enjoyed the sauna slowly. There is a water bath of 2 and one is a jacuzzi type. It has an autorouryu and can be put in 8 people. The clothes in the hall are separate types, and separate pajamas are also available. Supper is a French course. Other reviews said that the amount was small, but we were quite enough. There are plenty of alcohol and many types. After dinner, go to the second large communal bath. I also got Ochazuke from 22:00 and went to bed. Enjoy the sauna in the morning and have breakfast. Half buffet that can be selected from Japanese and Western. We choose Japanese food. The buffet is also ample for us on a plate with freshly cooked new rice and autumn salmon. It's delicious no matter what you eat. The smoothie was also delicious. The staff were overseas, but they were very good at customer service. Good room, good food, good spa, good service and great satisfaction. Thank you for your wife's Poot casually giving me a birthday celebration message and present with white chocolate for dinner dessert. It was an inn that I definitely wanted to use again.
Hotel fill with activities for all ages. We went in a big family group of 14 pax ranging from age 9 till 80 and everyone loved Toya Sun Palace. Kids and teens enjoyed the wave pool in the water park where there were Stingray and Flamingo buoys to use free of charge and during the time of our stay there were 6 slides opened. However there was additional one bigger slide which required to pay a 500 yen extra if we’d like to use and they would give us a 4-6 pax buoy to slide down and this 500 yen extra was for 50 minutes. The place that our 6 kids (9-18 years old) enjoyed the most was the Game Center Arcade with variety of games for everyone. A big thank to the Japanese man who was on duty the night of our stay (12/4/2023), he was very kind and very generous and because of him we had the best experience ever in playing games at the game arcade. Sorry we didn’t catch his name. The onsen here was very good especially the outdoor onsen where we could enjoy the onsen while over looking at the beautiful Lake Toya. We stayed in both a Japanese Modern and a Western Modern and the only difference between them was the Tatami vs Carpet floors. Rooms were standard Japanese style room and were big enough for 3 in each room. Dinner buffet was good with an all you can eat Hagandaz ice cream and we all loved there Japanese steam eeg (ไข่ตุ๋น). And for breakfast buffet the food was ok for me since they didn’t provide yoghurt and not many varieties of vegetables salads however we were stunned by the beauty of Lake Toya scenery. Anyway my son and daughter loved Toya Sun Palace so much that they wish to visit again soon. We really enjoyed onsen and the Game Center plus a Ping Pong room so much and it was an unforgettable experience for all of us. Thank you Toya Sun Palace ❤️

Charming welcome, smiling from the owner even with the language barrier. The room is not the newest, it is very clean, everything works very well, it is comfortable and the bedding is of good quality, pleasant view of the lake, quiet for sleeping. Took half board...what a treat! Everything is prepared by the chef with fresh vegetables from the garden and it's really delicious and plentiful. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the center of Toya Onsen, a sidewalk for pedestrians runs along the road for the entire route. There is a bus stop right in front of the guesthouse either to go to Toya Onsen or to Date JR station or Higashi-Muroran JR station. A taxi from Toya JR station costs just over 20 euros, 20 minutes ride. There is a ”convenience store” right next to the hotel. Really a hotel to recommend on this beautiful Lake Toya, moreover the prices are more than fair for the quality of the services.
From Toya Train Station Bus Stop (immediately visible when you exit the Train Station), you can take a bus/taxi. I chose the cheaper option which costs about Y340. It's about 7 stops to Toyako Onsen Bus Terminal (serving as a transport node at Toyako Onsen) and another 3 stops to Motomachi Bus Stop (2 minutes walk to Hotel Hanabi). Travelling time by bus is about 20-25 min, but subject to waiting time (take note of the bus service timings). Google Maps works well to provide suggested travelling route and timings.
I booked a single room for one night that was clean and served it's purpose. It felt a lot like a hostel than a hotel but has an onsen. My booking included a buffet dinner and breakfast which was critical as there weren't many food options around the area. Both buffet had a wide selection to cater to Asian/Western food preferences. There's a 7-Eleven that is about 5-10 min walk away.
There's a Tourist Information Centre at the Bus Terminal. The Bus Terminal is also reachable by walking which will take about 15-20 min.
Hotel Hanabi is one of many lodging options along Lake Toya, and just walking outside the hotel, I was already able to capture the nice photo of Mount Yotei.
During the time I was there (mid-end Apr), there were no bus options so the only way to travel to Usuzan Ropeway was by taxi booking done at the hotel reception.
It costed about Y1900 one-way and took about 15-20 min. Once I was done visiting, another taxi booking is done at the Usuzan Ropeway counter to the next destination.
Conveniently located only a 2-minute walk to the nearest hot spring resort, this is the perfect place to refresh yourself on a daily basis.
Free parking is also available.
The nearest convenience store is also a 5-minute walk away. There are also many restaurants within walking distance.
Fully equipped kitchens with basic cooking utensils and washing machines are available for longer stays.
Netflix is available free of charge on the TVs in the rooms.
You can view the Toyako Long Run Fireworks from the premises and enjoy the luxurious night view.
The Toyako Bus Terminal is also just a 10-minute walk away for easy access.
Rooms have two beds and one folding bed, and can accommodate up to three people. Enjoy a comfortable stay while enjoying Lake Toya.
Niseko and Rusutsu resorts are within driving distance, so please visit us during the winter ski season.
I have to say that this is really a great memory. I went there at the end of 2019. The room I lived in was facing the lake. I got up in the morning and looked out the window and I could enjoy the lake view directly. There were buses outside to reach various attractions. The hot spring environment of the hotel is very good, soaking in the outdoor soup can also enjoy the snow while soaking, this is really a rare experience. It is highly recommended to go to the leisurely accommodation of Lake Toya and the people who soak in the soup.
The host does not speak English and Chinese. He loves cleanliness. He stayed alone and didn't meet. I saw the note printed on the door. The instructions were very clear. Just go to the room table and get the key. Remember to change your shoes upstairs and lift the stairs. You can't wear shoes when you enter the room. After check-in, I have to call the host and send a small gift, thank you. The bathroom door is not very flexible, but it doesn't matter. The host gave the Wanshige soup coupon. It is enough to pay 500 yen. The soup is very good. There is no need to wash it at the host. Experienced the joy of making your bed and staying at a Japanese homestay! (Tips for Chinese tourists, the homeowner emphasizes that garbage should be sorted, if not, he will bring it to 711 and lose it). In short, I am quite satisfied! Also supplemented the knowledge of tatami. The front desk is on the left door, check in to see if there is your name on several doors. In addition, it is recommended that the gray kerosene heater on the right hand be collected, and the new white one in the corner is fine, otherwise you will really smell the kerosene, and it also wrote a reminder for ventilation at least 2 times in an hour. The white is the new one. There is no problem. In short, a very good homestay experience, thank you host.
When I arrived at the hotel, I was surprised to find a welcome drink and sake, but it was delicious. The room also had a massage machine, which was very useful to get rid of the tiredness of driving. The young man Nakai was very polite and cheerful, and I felt calm. Middle 々 While there is no pet OK hotel, this hotel was a time when my dog was staying with me, so there was a dock run and I couldn't get a family tour group 々. Speaking of luxury, I wanted to stay for a few nights. Thank you to all the staff.
I had an exceptional experience when I stayed at this hoel. The onsen was one of the highlights—spacious, clean, and incredibly relaxing.
The dinner buffet was outstanding, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes that catered to all tastes. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented, making it an absolute treat.
Additionally, the management and staff were top-notch. They were attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure all guests had a comfortable stay. Their dedication to excellent service truly made a difference.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality and relaxing stay.
