Located in a place along the Tsubo gawa River in Yufu, about 15 minutes walk from Yufuin station through Yufumi Dori street. There are 7 small hot spring inns with a number of rooms, 8 tatami mats in the Japanese room, and Yufu Dake's hero from the window. The bath is two washing places, hot inner bath and warm open-air bath. Dinner is a meal on the first floor of the first floor, and the sashimi of Thailand and Campache is soaked in the flower of the sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu sesame tofu The jelly, the sake was very delicious with Takagiya, Nishi no Seki, and volume. First of all, the service is very good and friendly. And I thought I had made a reservation for dinner, but that wasn't the case...^^ I was a little confused, but the staff recommended another yakiniku restaurant, so I went there and it was delicious. I went to both the public and private hot springs, but the water temperature was higher in the public bath. The private bath is warm, but the public bath is hot? That was about it. There was a shuttle service, and they even called a taxi during non-service hours, which was convenient. It's worth a visit at least once
The bamboo wall is the public open-air bath. wide
What a lovely place to have a retreat. It's away from the crowd but near the yufuin station....about 500 m. They don't have many rooms so it's quiet. Just outside the hotel is Lawson. Restaurants are also nearby. The hotel looks like a resort with beautiful landscaping. Staff is hospitable and although some don't speak very good English, they try their best. They allow us to keep our luggage at the lobby before check-in and after checkout. The hotel is simply generous with free drinks almost throughout the day and night, free usage of bicycles , beer and instant noodles are sold at a cheap price. It's a self contained hotel. Everything is there. The 4 private onsens are great. Rooms are clean but a bit cramped and it would be good if they have more hangers to hang clothes. A mirror on the wall would be better than a small table mirror. If you're not a cat lover, you might not be impressed when you see their cats walking on the food tables and sitting on the sofas. The small details like a note welcoming you and a photo of you at the end of the stay are why I would love to come back again.

This is the failure of the blind hotel selection for this trip to Japan. . In fact, there are many other hotel options in the town. Fortunately, the surrounding environment heals and does not affect the overall travel mood.
The so-called private bath is as small as a single bathtub, and the only outdoor hot spring time is very short. I didn't know that the scheduled dinner was not in the hotel until I arrived. I needed to take a car, and I didn't explain it in advance. It is very similar to a simple ABB standard hotel, which is very different from the expected hot spring hotel. It is also far from the station. The advantage is that it is very close to Jinlin Lake. Get up early and go for a walk. The environment of the town is so beautiful
The attitude of the service staff is very good. After 9 o'clock, they get off work and ask for self service. At this price, I can't complain, and I won't choose it next time
Stay comfortable and healthy! 5-8 minutes walk from Yufuin Station. A market is open until 23:00.
The staff is friendly! I will call you about 10 minutes before the private hot spring appointment time. The same is true for breakfast:) If you do not speak Japanese, please mix and speak English. There seems to be no problem with communication.
The room is very clean. No bugs in the room! A towel and a bathrobe are placed in the closet. If you are not familiar with the taste of tatami mats, it may be a bit difficult.
I used the smallest hot spring, it is warm and comfortable. I look separately, sometimes the cool breeze blows. I think winter will be better. In any case, good value for money,
The breakfast was neat and satisfying. You can fill your stomach safely.

A hotel suitable for health preservation, with a beautiful environment, attentive service, and you can see the stars in the sky at night. The two meals were average, not very surprising, and not quite in line with the price.
From Hells of Beppu we drove 1.5H to our isolated, small minshuku in Yufu. There only about 5 rooms with some up the hill. We hear from friends that the best hot springs onsens would be in this Beppu-Yufa area. This ryokan is rustic and not too fancy, but the service and food are undeniable. One lady staff person spoke near perfect English, while another spoke Mandarin. There is also a remoteness. I walked in several directions from here. There's no shops, Lawsons, 7-11, or restos immediately. I did find a resto where I bought mochi (alas, no black bean filling, or anything). There are persimmon trees with orange fruit along the road, but I didn't take any. The singular most reason I like this place is that, for the first time, I had 3 separate hot springs baths in my room -- two outside in the balcony and one near the tub. Talk about privacy and availability. Perfect, especially with the cooler temperatures! The kaiseki dinner was outstanding with abalone, crab, and plenty of fish sashimi. Asian pears were served. They are in season now. Breakfast in the small dining room with one table was also brilliant. We had two low beds which were difficult to enter in and out since hardly any walking space adjacent to the beds. When we departed, the owner-manager took a photo of us at the doorway. This is a very desirable ryokan if you like remoteness and a high level of service and cuisine.

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Ryokan almost three months ago. And I still did not write a review. We stayed there almost by accident, as the Ryokan we intended to stay in had only a vacancy for one night. There was time pressure. So I accepted their suggestion of their colleagues. Maybe I would not have picked it if I had looked into it better as I prefer a traditional house and here the old house (badly damaged by an earthquake) has been erased and replaced with daring new architecture. Yet is turned out to be the best place of our trip, one of the best places I stayed in, and I have been in many places all over Japan. How to write a review that does justice to this special place ? A place that has all the old fashioned refinery, mastering the tradition of omotenashi, blending it perfectly with a young vibrant savoir-vivre, global art and gastronomy. |I cannot write a review. Please read all the other ones, I only want to say : thank you, arigato gozaimasu ありがとうございます
Aawn0110When you think of Yufuin, you'd undoubtedly think about the hustle and bustle of the shopping street, but the moment you turn into the alley where this ryokan is located, it quietens down. It's a beautifully-renovated ryokan - traditional on the outside, but modern and luxurious on the inside. A nice private onsen sits in each of the 6 rooms of the ryokan, but there is a private outdoor one too. A nice addition to that would be the outdoor foot onsen that is accompanied by a beer dispenser. I thoroughly enjoyed both the dinner and breakfast. The bungo beef was one of the best I've eaten, and so were the sashimi, grilled fish, and tofu. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even better.
GGuest UserYou can see Mt. Yufu from your room, and although the bath in your room is not open-air, you can enjoy an open view when you open the window. The layout of the room was simple and calming. It was a very nice inn with great attention to detail such as amenities and drink service. Although the food wasn't extravagant, it was just the right amount for middle-aged people like us, and there were free drinks, so we were able to enjoy the food and drinks without worrying about the price. The staff serving the food was also very attentive and had excellent customer service. I would like to stay there again if I have the chance.
BBuccaneerDaveThe property is very easy to locate and has ample free parking. The owners were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. Very nicely prepared, arranged and delicious. The rooms were pretty good. Comfortable but not overly spacious. The onsen was pretty good as well. Personally did not enjoy the type of water that was in the bath as it was very different feeling to other baths but it was nice to have a rotemburo outside. Owners were very understanding when we had to spend the day in the hotel rearranging our itinerary and flights to head back to Canada due to Covid-19. The town itself, we were not super big fans of. We could see how many would like it but it really didn't hold much interest to us. And sorry but Kinrin Lake is a pond, not a lake. Liked the hotel but don't think we will return to Yufuin in the future. Thanks for all your kindness during our stay with you.
仔仔仔旅遊家Fu Tong Japanese-style tatami room comes with a bathtub: I originally booked an open-air bathtub in my room, but I was informed two days before departure that there was a problem and could not provide this room type😪 I had booked the room more than a month ago, why did I not notify it until before departure? We were told by customer service that we could get a refund or find another hotel. This really put us in a dilemma. The main purpose of entering Yufuin was to enjoy a private bath. After a day of fussing, another customer service member carefully suggested a new solution and the solution was solved. Problem!
I said the hotel is nice, the room is big enough for two people, it has an indoor bathtub and a Dyson hairdryer, great! We booked a room, two meals, and the food was rich and delicious. Guests in each room were arranged to eat in a designated private room, which provided a lot of privacy, which was great! In winter, I want to stay in this hotel again, take a bath in the wind and snow, drink the hotel’s plum wine and eat wagyu beef. I think about it!
GGuest UserThe check in process was ”smart check-in”, where guests receive the passcode to the room via email. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any email (not in junk/spam either), and was stuck outside the room, trying to call a call center that had already closed for the day. There was also no reply to the email I had sent via the Trip app. In the end, I had to ask the guest staying in another room for the phone number of the person directly in-charge of the facility, so that I could call them to get the password and check-in code. The facility exceeded my expectations, but the check-in process due to the missing email was too stressful and unpleasant. I may use the facility again, but I will book it through another app to prevent such problems again.
MMeowwww1968We made a booking directly with the hotel (Google translate). Communication wasn’t very prompt and last email was never responded. But it was ok. Our request for ground floor room was granted. Room We booked a western twin room. It was small with no cupboard, only 2 hooks. Besides this, it was clean and came with attached toilet. Bed was comfortable as well. Facilities Nice public Onsen - large. A pity no view at all to speak off. I didn’t use their 5 private onsens since they were not attractive. Free beer, coffee & tea. Really pretty courtyard, especially in the evening with the kerosine lamps. In the daytime you can see there are room for improvement. Location Excellent, very close to Yufuin’s major attractions like the lake, shopping street and Floral Village. Yet it is located along a quaint canal with great view of the paddy fields and mountains. Not very convenient for walking from the station though due to the non-tar road in immediate vicinity. Taxi fare was reasonable - ¥710. Services Not the friendliest. Staff did bring us to our room, detouring to show us the onsens. However, quite grumpy. After check-in I asked for assistance to book a local restaurant. They won’t help. Food We changed our booking from half board to no meals after our requests for some food tweaks were refused. Conclusion I would return for their location, ambience, good value and the free beer/coffee 😁
GGuest UserIt took us a while to find the Minshuku as there were no English signage. Luckily we asked us a passerby who pointed us in the right direction. The tatami room was enough for our family of 4 with an 8yo and 11yo. The communal sink was right outside our room and the shared toilets were right around the corner. We liked their small bath house too around the the back of the main building. We were very kindly greeted and shown our room. They most spoke Japanese but we managed to get by using translator apps. Ample parking and we were allowed to park for a while after checking out so we could walk around the small town. They also returned my daughter's bolster and purse which she accidentally left behind. The location of the minshuku is very good - just a few hundred meters from Kinrin lake and the tourist spots nearby.
HHatyaimanThe key is Private On-Sen upon very good pricing. There are 4 On-Sen; 2 Outdoor and 2 Indoor. This will be good place for On-Sen upon privacy. We did try twice on Biggest On-Sen outdoor as 6-7 occupied. Dinner is optional but I saw many people took this option. I do believe that location is a little far from downtown (actually less than 10 min walk). Then, dinner should be placed in the hotel for convenience. Dinner and Breakfast is local taste. There is small vending machine in the lobby. Free Transfer can be made upon request by e-mail. I feel staying HOME not Hotel. Host and staff (speaking Japanese, English and Thai) are considered as 5-star service. Highly Recommended. Re-Visit for sure
