We had a great experience at this hotel. We had a swim up villa which has 2 bedrooms with queen beds. Each room in the villa has a separate air conditioner so everyone could be comfortable. There are sliding doors in the bedrooms and living area to plenty of patio space and even a small “backyard”. There is a view of St. Eustatius from the patio and of the sunset. We stayed for 12 nights. There is a restaurant and bar on site. Every meal we had was top notch. Every staff member we interacted with were so friendly and helpful. There is a large swimming pool and a jacuzzi, even a children’s play area. I recommend a rental car if you stay here, it’s out of town and you will need transport to the beach and any sites you want to see on St. Kitts.
There is not a formal reception except way down the hill which requires a drive. No lobby. No sundry store or gift shop etc. so there is no running downstairs to grab medicine a bandaid a quick soda or snacks. Come prepared . We were told several time the staff has left for the day. You basically have to dial zero from your room to ask any questions. But if you are not in your room it’s hard to find staff to get answers to things. The rooms are built on heavy hills so walking back and forth to your room is for the physically fit. Same getting to the restaurant walking up 30 stairs. There were blackout ish curtains but the rooms are not insulated. It’s basically shutters with screens so the AC is not really cold. So hence sleeping with no covers. They provide down comforters which are too hot and no single sheet. Super cool rainforest experience close to trail head for hiking nice experience being in a whole house room with a cold plunge pool. The coffee was absolutely horrible Nescafé instant was best option in room and at restaurant. They did have couple tray champaign which was amazing. The bathroom is attached to most of the houses which means it’s outside and only curtains for privacy which blow in the wind and make you feel like your being watched bring clothes pins to put them together if you are modest. We would return but be better prepared for this type of property. Given the price we expected more.

Having spent 3 weeks here to really experience a ‘holiday’ rather than staying at our beautiful family home from home on the island- this review should’ve been better but unfortunately it’s down to individuals who clearly do not understand the importance of hospitality and customer service OR it’s probable that they are selective with which guests they treat appropriately. This hotel really needs to revisit staff training to educate staff etiquette to ALL customers from ALL parts of the globe… Mumbling comments between themselves in native tongue thinking guests do not understand what is being said is PURE ignorance and demonstrates slack attitudes. You would expect staff to remain professional at ALL times and represent the brand you work for in a positive light. Perhaps feeling just a little too comfortable in job security and relaxed here to care that much. Some of the attitudes do not match the beauty of the island. We do recommend you don’t believe the hype and try a different hotel on the island as the praises sung about the Marriott do not in anyway match the service. We were told when asked which hotel is the best on the island that it was this one. However we had family members stay in the other hotel up the road and they were very happy. Clearly St Kitts is proud of this hotel standing out in all its splendour but sadly some staff are letting it down. The hotel itself - PROS are that you have no problem getting Sun loungers by the pool. The hotel room we had was spacious & sufficient. Albeit showing signs of tiredness and in need of much TLC for what you’d expect from the brand. Rooms quite clean. Hareem thank you for being so accommodating and one other male staff member in the snack bar- quite young, dark with a lisp, braided locs- maybe you could teach the others a thing or two about personality. Some of the pool staff were nice and a guy who dealt with the cabana for us. Emerald Spa staff were nice. Sorry didn’t catch names. Gym was decent and it’s Lovely that locals can use the hotel facilities and beach. CONS some staff demonstrate questionable mannerisms as if they aren’t used to hearing different accents. Very inconsistent room service, more often than not you don’t get what you ask for on the menu. Then to rectify it you are charged again the room service charge (I did finally speak to deputy manager about this and was dealt with courteously - thank you). Nothing really here at the hotel to do for children- think you’re missing a trick there. No real greetings during our stay in the lobby, some staff look miserable and unapproachable. Again selective attention only to those I presume they think they’ll get a ‘tip’ from. A few bottles of complimentary waters handed out on check-in…meh. On arrival to the hotel, I left my card on the room for charges and noticed numerous online debits all within the space of 10-15 minutes of each other for numerous amounts ranging from £30 to £400. Luckily they had all declined as I hadn’t
Where should I begin??? My family and I was veryyyyy skeptical about booking the Royal St.Kitts Hotel because of all the negative feedback we've seen pertaining to the water situation. But we've decided to experience it on my own, which we didn't regret taking that leap. Our time spent there was exceptional, the check in process was real quick and informative (shout out to Ms.Shermain Paul, you did your thing 😁)I really wish the other agents would take a page from your book, not all of them wasxas pleasant and helpful. But never the less... moving on...Our room was very lovely with a wonderful lake view. We had everything we needed(home away from home). 2 restaurants on site, also on the outside you have other options. Supermarket at your convenience, also beach access and quick taxi service. It was a great 5 nights there. Who knows, maybe next year same time same place.
I am very disappointed with this resort. It’s a shame it doesn’t deliver to the level it should. We were traveling a bit off-season (mid-October): fewer people, less hassle, and more quiet. However, only one restaurant was open during our stay; they did not mention it anywhere. Ok, I don’t mind dining at one place during my stay. However, the food in the restaurant was waaaaay below average. No buffet, a la carte only. To give you a simple example: kids REFUSED to eat french fries because of how rubbery the french fries were. Everything we tried was embarrassingly bad (only the breakfast was ok). We did not expect black caviar or a molecular cuisine experience, but they charged extraordinary prices for something that was poorly made. Do not expect anyone at the beach or pool to make a beach chair for you; we set up the umbrellas and chairs ourselves. Their morning starts around 8:30/9 am, and no one is around earlier. There was also no food and drink service available for us at the beach. The drinks and dirty towels left at the pool the evening before were still there the next morning at 9 am. The seaweed was cleaned very casually, so assume the beach will always have it, which wasn’t a big deal for us, the ocean was still beautiful. The service is slow. The average wait time to get your food is 45-50 minutes. There is a kids' club (3+). The babysitting is $60+$20 in fees (not tips) per hour. It’s more of a free play, and the organized activities are mostly only on paper; they take kids outside per your request, but not to the pool/beach area. Make sure you specify no TV if you get babysitting services; otherwise, you’ll end up paying almost $80 per hour for your kids to watch TV. Overall, I would love to return to St Kitts and Nevis, but definitely not to this hotel. I hope they will fix their food and beverage situation and add at least a Breakfast buffet for customers’ convenience.
