Luckily nothing has changed in my previous reports here. Still a place of rest among friends! This time we stayed 2 months. Hopefully we will repeat (Corona!!??) 2021!! Those who are satisfied with a beautiful beach, warm sea, nice operators and good food in the vicinity should come here. If you need or are looking for luxury, you should go a few plants further. If you need action and partying on holiday, it is better to go to Puket, for example.

Stayed here as part of two families travelling round Thailand, with 3 young children in tow. Really family friendly and had a lovely infinity pool which overlooks the sunset every evening. Room - cute bungalow type rooms with basic essentials. AC worked well and WiFi in rooms with a lovely balcony to relax on. On a steep hill but nothing too far. Breakfast - tasty and fairly basic but does the job! We ate a few lunches here and the food was great including the beach bar. Spa - best massage we had in Thailand! Beautiful relaxing semi outside area with the breeze blowing in and birds tweeting. Friendly staff and highly recommend!

Muslim family hotel, several large villas, the room is not air-conditioned, the victory is on the beach, close to the beach, and there is a swimming pool. You can rent a motorcycle for 300 baht a day, book Rock Island to go to sea, etc., the price is similar to a certain treasure, it is better to book at the store.

We stayed a week here (after a week in Phrae Ae at Thai House Beach Resort, and before a week in Kaw Kwang at Twin Bay. It was excellent value at £60/night with breakfast in high season). The room was well-equipped with wardrobe fridge, good aircon etc and a good shower, and a nice veranda; rooms were clean with towels and bedding changed daily. Sunbeds, mattresses, toys, beach towels and parasols were available for the beach and the small pool (a big plus). Reception staff were friendly, but 3 of the 4 restaurant and bar staff were often too busy chatting or on their phones, or just surly (our only criticism of the place), so we chose to eat elsewhere. The biggest plus of all is its location, and we preferred it to Phrae Ae (Long Beach). Klong Nin beach is 2.2 km long and Ilmare is at the very northern end by a little rocky headland and klong (small tidal stream), which is very pretty and interesting, with safe bathing (the beach to the south is straight sand until you reach the next headland). There are a few restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and an excellent German Bakery. Then 500 meters south of Ilmare (a 10 minute stroll along the beach or dusty road) is Horizon Road, a line of resorts, bars and restaurants (recommend Kansa for a relaxing time, Richey for a lively vibe, or Otto for western food in a relaxed setting). If you cross the bridge over the klong (or paddle at low tide) there is very friendly place called Klong Nuiy Seafood where the owners may provide a half-price taxi service (500 Baht return to Lanta Old Town). Beyond that is a beautiful little bay called Klong Toab where we often swam; it is dominated by the luxury Rawi Warin resort which picked arguably the best spot in Ko Lanta. It would be hard to find a anywhere better than Lanta Ilmare for the money.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with our 2 children. On arrival we were shown to a room that smelt strongly of mould and mildew. The lady on the front desk who appeared to be the manager was extremely rude and demanded that we pay extra money in order to change to a room that did not smell. Our new room had heaps of ants but we just put up with it. The breakfast is cooked to order western food. The breakfast was very ordinary. I chose a waffle on the first day but it arrived all dried out and shrivelled up. My kids chose croissants and they arrived soggy and covered in oil so from then on we stuck with boiled eggs and toast as it is hard to get that wrong. They don’t seem to put a lot of effort into cleaning the rooms. Most days we would just come back to clean towels and water sitting outside our room. The only good things about our stay were the nice clean pool and the location of the hotel being a 2 minute walk from seven 11. We stayed at the hotel in April and it was close to empty.

No matter what room type, even the villa pool room for four thousand one nights does not have any welcome fruit, or any other value-added services and small items to give you the feeling of ”VIP”. The cleaning service of the room is very untimely, and it is always embarrassing to clean when the guests are there! And the cleaning is sloppy, the table is not cleaned... In addition, the breakfast buffet is mainly for Westerners' bread and eggs, but there is no cheese, no cold cut meat, even jam, yogurt has a taste, I have seen other foreign customers disappointed eyes. When we asked if there was an Asian breakfast, the waiter told us: Sorry, no! Well...the constant breakfast for four days was a bit boring, and on the last day we had very stale bread...there was no freshly squeezed juice on the drink side, but fortunately the freshly ground coffee in the hotel was really good. In addition, although there is an employee on duty in the pool bar, the cocktail he made is really good, especially the taste recommended by the boss mango daiquira is amazing, which is better than the first five-star hotel on the island we went to later. Everyone must try it. In short, we still had a wonderful holiday in the hotel. After all, the mentality is very important when traveling. Every time I think about the price we paid, I feel that it is not worth it...
