Inflation has caused the dollar to depreciate. A hotel that originally cost 100 US dollars is now 200 to 300 US dollars. The overall situation is generally very poor. The weekly hotel experience is simply incomparable with that of Asia. There is no executive lounge and no membership service. I would never stay in a hotel like this if I had to.
We had to check out of another hotel mid-trip due to issues, and ended up here instead. Despite being sold out online, I called the hotel directly and they were friendly and able to find me an available room. The exterior of this hotel is a bit dated, and the lobby area is functional but not fancy and new. The rooms however are very nice and seem to be recently renovated. Ours was super clean, comfortable, and just what we needed. I would stay here again without question. If you happen to need a hotel in Concord, just skip all of those and stay here just a few minutes away. There is not a single remotely sanitary hotel in all of Concord.
I recently stayed at this Motel 6 for a overnight stay. The checkin was easy and I had no issues. The room provided all the amenities I would expect for a budget motel. I will stay here again in the future.
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times throughout the past three years going back and forth from the Bay Area for work. Each time has somehow been increasingly worse of an experience. From the countless drug addicts seen staying at this hotel to watching a manager speak down and berate a new hire that had difficulty understanding English while checking in. I thought that maybe these were just circumstantial situations to my first few stays. However, with this last encounter having ”rust” and hair throughout the shower tub, I was pretty much at my end dealing with this specific hotel/location. You'd believe Walnut Creek would be held to a higher standard than what you'd expect out of a motel in Concord or Pittsburg. Considering the extreme measures people have gone to with Covid I would have thought the hotel would take pride in cleanliness or take responsibility for the pure negligence of cleaning the bathroom. I believed it was blood but I was told by a manager through a phone call it was rust. As somebody who has ran a real estate investment company for most of my life I certainly find it hard to believe this is rust or that it would not be addressed immediately if it was. Also find it hard to believe it was rust when there was splatters and hair throughout the tub not on the metal part of the shower drain but on the tub itself. Nevertheless, I did not appreciate being talked down to on the voicemail that was left for me and I was sure to let them know that. I also had told them I'd be making it very known about the disgusting conditions of this hotel and the pure disrespect I was shown. This is not the first bad experience here. It's bad every single time. I was offered free parking but in my opinion it's just the principal behind it and it was truly just disgusting. After talking to corporate on the phone about the situation and all the experiences for an hour the gentleman had offered me points to try and rectify the situation. I do not even know what the points equivocate out to dollar wise and this was after I made it a big deal; also why would I EVER stay at an IHG hotel again. Especially an organization that doesn't take any responsibility for the poorly ran facility. I hope that everyone that sees this review picks a different hotel to stay in. You can find a much better hotel like the Marriot for roughly the same price and you won't have to deal with any of these issues that I have dealt with every time. I am not one to cause issues nor to write a negative review but this place should honestly be labeled a Motel or be put out of business. I gave this property location and corporate plenty of opportunities to make the situation right and to take responsibility but neither were done. The manager made it out to seem that I was a scum bag looking for a hand out and they had already given me points so that should have been good enough. This has overall been the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE!
This is a gem of a hotel. It's an old school build of the old motel design, but has been completely renovated. It's super clean and modern. Great location, walking distance to restaurants and retail. Right in Walnut Creeks center. Excellent value, huge pride of ownership apparent. Will stay there again.
No option but to use the compulsory $20 a night valet parking. The design of the atrium inside creates so much noise, that even on the 8th floor in your room you can hear restaurant/bar and people noise. Do not accept rooms 13 or 14 on any floor as there is a service elevator between those rooms that constantly goes and sounds like your own personal elevator in the room. Staff on the first night were less than helpful or understanding, but the following morning after about 3 hrs sleep, staff did give us a room move. --- Could staff training be improved to have them experience a night in one of these rooms so that when a guest has such a problem, they can deal with it promptly? I know they were not responsible for the design of the building, but those are the problems they should be able to rectify immediately. As a Hilton member on arrival, we got some complimentary drinks, but our encounter with the surly and plainly rude bar tender, convinced us we were not going to use up any more valuable minutes of our lives staying for another. (Can't recall his name, but he was late 30's bleach spiky hair and fortunately for him I tipped him whilst still processing how rude he was - 'thank you' are 2 easy words .... even if you don't mean it. I can speak form experience having tended a bar for 2 years in Scotland where 'tipping' is not in the vocabulary of drinkers, yet it still paid for me through College. Oh, and the early finish time for breakfast through the week was not helpful. Never stayed at a hotel that I can recall having 9am finish for breakfast where the doors are pulled closed on 9am!
It is easy to forget that you are right next to a busy freeway once you have checked into the Lafayette Park. The hotel has this elegance and charm that sweeps you away and so easily you forget about the busy hustle of life that still continues outside its doors. We were here for the wedding of our friend, and it was a wonderful experience staying in the suite, for the most part, the hotel was accommodating on every level except for room service. They were the only staff that were grouchy no matter what time we called to order. Otherwise, there are elegant touches to our suite that made the experience picture perfect and beautiful as we all got ready for the wedding and crashed that evening. I only wish I booked longer so I could truly enjoy some time escaping the world and the chaos and just lounging in the room and by the pool. I highly suggest paying for the upgraded suites, as each member of our party booked different rooms and you could drastically tell differences, and the suites are definitely an upgraded elegance.
I traveled here with my Mom, Dad, & sister (4 adults). The beds are super comfortable, the couch in the living room is terribly uncomfortable (we spent relatively no time there). The tv options were lacking. I believe there were 40 channels & one if them was a tv guide channel, the tv also cut in & out. The staff at the front desk were super nice. The staff throughout the rest of the facility were kind lf dismissive, I’m not sure what to make of this place. The main issues our family had was the fluctuations in temperature. It was burning up in the room with the 2 beds. So much so that my sister and I literally couldn’t even use blankets when we slept. Throughout the hotel it was literally burning up nearly all the time. Also the smell in the hallways was pretty bad. In the 3 days we stayed here I felt like I subconsciously remembered when to hold my breathe. The continental breakfast was tops, though, it was one of the redeeming qualities to say the least. Also no vending machines, but there is a little nook beside the front desk with snacks & some beverages, def came in handy! Not my best or worst experience at a hotel, I guess. The maid did leave a note on my bed about not leaving anything on the bed, which I found to be a bit rude & passive aggressive, that could just be a me thing though. The information claim’s housekeeping only comes every other day, but they ended up coming every day, which I found kind of strange? But anyway. 3/4.
