Holiday Inn Expresses are our default hotel choice and this one, being in Florida and a relatively well-travelled area, met all our expectations save for ONE glaring issue. We got in around 8 after driving all day and decided to take the front desk’s suggestion and exercise the 20% discount at the TGI Fridays within walking distance. Since we hadn’t been to one in 15 years we decided ‘what the heck?’ After returning from dinner feeling no pain, as they say, we went to bed without really scrutinizing they room. In the morning, once we were a little more lucid, I noticed the toilet I was sitting on had some MAJOR issues. As someone that’s renovated a couple houses I’m pretty comfortable in my theory that this toilet was probably rescued from a bathroom AFTER it it had been demolished. The seat was stained, marred and scored and the porcelain rim had chips in it. All this was noticed after we had been using it the night before and that morning. A toilet seat in this condition can not be properly cleaned and I felt pretty disgusted that we had used it after taking showers and going to bed - pretty much felt like I needed another shower after seeing it. How does something like this happen? How could such a key component of a hotel stay be in such unacceptable condition? Otherwise the facility was well-kept and comfortable. The only other quibble I could muster is the air conditioner being a little loud, but it’s Florida and they get worked hard. We’ll still keep going to HIE locations but this was probably the biggest fail we’ve ever experienced at one.
I was not expecting too much from a two-star hotel, at least I don't believe expecting a hot shower is expecting too much. The water was cool after running it for 10 minutes. Not good. I am happy to report that the room was reasonably clean except for the back of the pocket door that only someone who was sitting on the toilet with it closed would see. Not filthy, just scruffy. Beds were comfortable. The room had a musty odor but not unbearable. It was okay. Breakfast was not too bad. I would skip the eggs and sausage (blecch!) and just go for some cereal and yogurt. Those were fresh and lovely. The employees were pleasant. We were near the elevator. I found it to be noisy, lots of loud talking and kids screaming woke me up several times. If all you want is a place to crash, then this is safe and adequate. If you are looking for luxury than go up a few stars. I found this to be extremely overpriced at $240 for my stay. But it was a Saturday night. They had me by the...well they had me. Enjoy my $240 bucks because this is the last you'll see of me unless the better places are booked up again.
Me and my wife arrived in Tampa after a long drive from Boca Raton Florida. We booked a room with a Kings size bed on Priceline and was very excited to get to our room. Upon entering the Hotel at approx. 1030pm on 5/5/2022 we noticed the Front desk was empty. So we decided to have a seat and wait for someone to come help us check into our room. We waited for a good 7-10 minutes before we saw a woman walking across the lobby from a dark lit area slowly taking her time as she approached the front desk. There was not any pleasantries or any welcoming or inviting facial expressions or words, Just can I have a drivers License and credit card, after I had said we would like to check -in we have reservations. She looked up our reservation told us our room number and that was it. Upon riding the elevator we noticed she never explained anything about the hotel or how to get on Wi-fi or any of the normal conversation you would normally have upon entering a hotel. we just shrugged it off and looked forward to sleeping after a 4hour drive. When we entered the room it had two single beds? We called the front desk and said we have a reservation for a king size bed we have 2 single beds. At which time she became annoyed and explained that was what they had available right now. She said if you want a King size Bed I can put you into room 126 on the first floor. I agreed and went to the front desk to turn in my key and pick up another one. When i walked up to the desk she was having a personal conversation and ignored us for a time until her conversation was ended. The was not a customer but a friendly conversation with a person she knew personally. When she finished the conversation she made no eye contact nor any conversation as much to say she was not happy to help us or even act politely and professional. When we get to our room 126 it has a terrible odor. It was a room that permits smoking and did make it hard for me to breath since I have asthma . My wife wanted to complain but I suggested that its better to just accept the room since she is looking for confrontation it seemed. This was a horrible experience. Upon checking out we mentioned to the front desk what had happened. Our confirmation number was., 3253066336

I had the worst hotel experience of my entire life with this hotel. I booked a room for one night on ******* and paid in full for the room. The day I was to check in, I called the hotel around 10:30 p.m. to see what was the latest time I could check in was. I was told by the front desk lady that I could check in anytime and that if it was after 11:00p.m that I would just need to dial 500 on the phone in the lobby and someone would come to check me in. I arrived at the hotel at 11:20 p.m and started dialing 500 in the phone in the lobby. For ONE HOUR I continued to call 500 on the phone as well as call the front desk phone number on my cell phone and no one EVER answered ! I was forced to go to a different nearby hotel and pay way more than I paid for this hotel, just to have somewhere to sleep for the night. When I got checked into the other hotel and got into my room, I began calling this hotel again and around 1:30 a.m. in the morning a female finally answered at the front desk ! I explained what happened and she said,” I’m sorry”, in the most uncaring, unbothered attitude ever. I asked her if she had any explanation as to why she didn’t answer the phone while I was outside calling for an hour and she simpley said,” No, I don’t have an answer and you can call in the morning and speak to the Manager about getting a refund.” This was by far the most ridiculous hotel experience I have ever had in my life and I would never EVER try to stay at this hotel and/or recommend anyone to stay here. The employees simply just do not care about customers, their job, customer service or really anything. The best part, I filed a complaint with ******* and I am still waiting on a refund ! Apparently, the Manager at this hotel has still not responded to the email that ******* sent requesting the refund! Again, worst hotel experience ever. It is absolutely disgusting that they would leave customers standing there for an hour calling the number to check in and no one ever answers the phone. My guess is that the employee either fell asleep or was on her own agenda doing something and left me and my family stranded and forced to go to a different hotel and pay way more for the night, after already paying in advance for this hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
This is not a bad property at all. A little hard to get to and such when leaving 75, but I managed. The room was nice, clean and a good size. I found the breakfast to a bit lacking for a Hampton Inn. The pool was clean. Hallways were warm, but air seemed to be on.
I was there for a week long conference. Although I did not stay at the hotel since it was an easy commute, I can’t say enough about the staff. We were there the week of the hurricane and they went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed. I also noticed that a lot of people were evacuating to this hotel with their dogs o it’s nice to know that they care about guests’ pets snd allow them in the rooms. Definitely will look for a Hyatt Place when we travel with our dog!
Awesome stay. Hotel clean. Bed was to die for as were the pillows. Shampoo and conditioner and bath get dispenser in shower. Water hot. Front desk staff very nice. Free ice cream at night. Good breakfast. We will be back. 5 stars all the way. Don’t miss this place.
