Allerdale Court Hotel

A gem in the town of Cockermouth. The Allerdale is a boutique hotel but will all of the facilities you would expect / would need. The staff exceeded our expectations every time. No matter what or when we needed something, they would be there and also gave brilliant recommendations for local hot spots. Thank you to Catrina and the team for a beautiful stay

Beautiful hotel, everything clean and tidy. Great location with everything you need nearby. Nice selection of food for breakfast and the food from the steak house connected to the restaurant was delicious! Staff were wonderful, so friendly and welcoming and happy to help with whatever you needed. The bar area was quiet and cosy with plenty of games for you to play whilst having a drink.

Just excellent. The staff here excelled at making our group feel very special indeed. Call me old fashioned but opening doors, freshly made breakfast and offering to carry bags go a long way to making people feel cared for and acknowledged. Hospitality done well here at the Allerdale in Cockermouth.

What a lovely quaint hotel. Central to Cockermouth, short walk to the centre over the river. Let me start with the staff, really friendly, welcoming and helpful. We arrived early (lunchtime) and our room was ready so checked in straight away. The room we had was an executive, slightly more expensive but well worth it. The room faced onto the front of the hotel. It was spacious with a huge bathroom (bath and over bath shower) the bed was a double, very comfortable we had an excellent sleep. There is a large wardrobe that has an iron, ironing board and hairdryer. Tea, coffee and biscuits. Very clean and tastefully decorated. There is a bar, and adjoining resteraunt (steakhouse) breakfast was lovely, quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. Plenty of choice for breakfast too. I have read reviews and I have seen quite stupid comments to be honest. This hotel is an old building, there are squeaky floorboard, the floors slope what do people expect from a beautiful building of that age. The hotel is being refurbished and from what we saw this is being done superbly and in keeping with the buildings heritage. Overall we had a wonderful stay and will happily return and I would recommend.

This location is very handy for us due to the central meet point between Gretna and Lancaster however it is the hotel that keeps bringing us back!! We love it here. The rooms are so nice and very reasonably priced. Food is quality. Staff are the best

The best hotel with a decent drive time to Sellafield. Flexible spaces to meet and convenient breakfast times. Good rooms good value good restaurant. Easy parking opposite or in the bay outside from 6pm.
