If a trip to Costa Rica is on your “ bucket list” and you want to stay in a community that is safe, secure and overwhelmingly beautiful, look no further. The Bahia Pez Vela Beach Resort is located on its own private beach about 35 minutes east of the Liberia airport. There is no need to rent a car, the owner of Villa #10 will help you to arrange transportation from the airport with a stop at the supermarket in Coco Beach to pick up groceries en route to your condo. The owners of Bahia Pez Vela #10 are the most helpful rental hosts that we have ever dealt with. They supplied us with wonderful recommendations for tours and restaurants and general travel information about Costa Rica that was very helpful. The oceanfront condo is really beautiful and is meticulously maintained. We really appreciated the proximity to the pool and the restaurant. Steps lead directly from the condo to both the pool area and the beach. The restaurant has excellent food. While we were there in early July, there was live music once a week and specialty nights twice weekly. The property is quiet, private and a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The interior spaces of the condo are thoughtfully furnished and very comfortable. The patio is an extension of the living spaces and the shaded sitting area makes for wonderful ocean viewing even in the brief rainy season downpours. Often, Howler monkeys can be heard in the trees on the surrounding hillsides. If condo #10 or #11 are available,we thought that they have the best location in the complex and the helpful host will make your experience truly memorable. The staff team at Bahia Pez Vela are always friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated the office staff/ concierge team of Cesar, Abi and Jacki. They will help arrange tours and drivers for wherever you want to go. There is 24 hour security and the gardeners keep the property looking beautiful. The beds are very comfortable and the views are breathtaking. We spent six nights in Villa #10- Mariposa in early July. Although it was rainy season, we didn’t experience much rain. The ocean water temperature was blissfully warm and everything was green and exploding with flowers wherever we looked. Since we didn’t rent a car, we had the opportunity to meet Costa Rican drivers who gave us some wonderful tours of the local community and took us to places to shop and visit that were away from the usual tourist haunts. The kitchen is well appointed for cooking on those days you just want to stay home and relax. Our host suggested a visit to the rainforest and specifically recommended the Blue River Rainforest Resort for a day trip or an overnight stay. We stayed overnight and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of soaking in the hot mineral pools and wandering through the acres of botanical gardens in the jungle at the base of the smoking Rincon de la Viejo volcano. There is also a resident sloth family that lives in the garden. If you would like to experience Costa Rican hospital
