Clean and beautiful property. Breakfast was homemade every day. Mostly eggs and toast. 250 steps to the beach. Gated property with code access. Rooms were small but adequate. Bed and breakfast feel to this property.

If you want "charming" look no further. I thouroughly enjoyed the stay. Only good things to say about the safety, cleanliness, staff and property.
Be sure to understand when booking there are two buildings. One is more private and quiet. They call those rooms apartments. Then, there are 6 rooms all attached to the central reception, kitchen and shared eating area. During the day, there is a fair amount of noise and commotion. Not terrible, and very quiet at night.
Just be aware, if your older folk like me, and you need catch-up naps during day... might be iffy. Lol.
One suggestion...put at a tiny table and chair in room so you dont have to eat in bed. Thank you Hotel Del Sol.

We stayed in the budget room off of the lobby for 7 nights. Room was smaller, but adequate. Bed was a bed firm. Shower pressure was low, but plenty of hot water to get clean. TV is app based, no cable, so bring your logins. Breakfast was fresh fruit, juice, coffee, scrambled eggs, toast with butter and jelly and some days rice beans. Basic, but filling. Being near the lobby was not a problem at all as other guests didn't congregate there. It was also convenient as there is a filtered water station available 24/7 in the lobby. Kathalina was helpful in highlighting how to get to the beach, mini mart, grocery store, pharmacy and banks. She also helped us book a taxi to a local golf course. The pool area was frequented but most guests and was clean and comfortable with a good amount of shade. We spent a few hours there most afternoons. The smallness of this hotel was so peaceful as there are never hundreds of people mulling about. We would definitely stay here again if in Coco.

The photos don't do this hotel justice. Beautiful inside and out. One block from the beach. Safe neighbourhood. Friendly staff. Would stay again!

Bathroom was dirty, wifi did not work at all, water is low pressure and doesn’t get hot. They charged me additional for second person (my wife) when I checked in & only accepted cash & there’s no breakfast. I can’t remember the last time I went to $150 hotel in Costa Rica that was single occupancy. Place is a little dated but very pretty and peaceful! Great location too.

I had a short notice change of plans. I was able to stay here right in the center of Tamarindo for an amazing price. Nice staff, friendly travellers. The bars close by are loud, but headphones took car of that. Great place for the price!

Had several insects in the room including 1 cockroach. No hot water at sink, only in the shower. Walk thru dirty and wet shaded area in order to access room on 1st floor. Staff very friendly but this hotel needs a renovation.

Ambient environment. Great team that provided exceptional services. We particularly enjoy the Costa Rican touch to things. And the manager, Fatima, was exceptional!
