Hôtel Restaurant Notre Dame

We did the booking on their website after speaking to the man (owner). There was no issue as he was gentle and quick to guide on the booking. After 5 hour of driving and reaching the hotel, I rang the bell and the lady owner (wife of the man) came, I wished her a good evening and mentioned we have a booking for the night. She goes to the computer and started to yell in French how the payment is not done and I need to pay first. I mentioned OK my partner is parking the car and would come in 5 minutes. She continued to yell saying call me when you are ready to do the payment and left. I kept standing at the reception like a beggar not knowing what to do and if I can even sit anywhere. Next day while leaving we mentioned about this to the man that his wife was impolite and as a foreigner speaking little French I was put to tears on being insulted like this. She comes back and starts to scream ans said 'She has a foreigner black woman as a maid and we can ask her how well she is treated here' (?????). Completely shocked with this erratic and ****** behaviour plus comments we decided to leave the matter (angrily) and leave. She chase us out of her exit door and was still screaming. PLS AVOID THIS HOTEL ESPECIALLU IF YOU ARE NOT FRENCH AND NOT WHITE. Her comparison with the maid, the inhospitality and greed for money all combined makes this beautiful property a FAILURE. Writing this review so that what happened to me, doesn't happen with anyone else. Thanks

The location itself is quite nice, but the owners are the most unfriendly hosts we've met so far. One should be careful not to ask anything from the lady owner! We were a group of 2 families - 2 adults and 2 children (6 to 10 years old) each -, yet we were given a 5-person room and a 3-person one. Moving on... even though the *********** conditions said "No prepayment needed", she snapped at us for not receiving the payment a day before and called us frauds. We tried to explain, in French, that there was just a technical issue at bank. We paid just as we arrived at the hotel, even before seeing the rooms, with the exact same credit card so there is no way to talk about any fraud. After that, we were yield at just because we asked for a solution to dry our towels (room did not have any balcony). Lady owner did not refrain from yelling at adults as well as children for no particular reason. Quite strange as the kids did not understand any French. The rooms were generally clean and the view of those with a view to the (dried) river is nice. The price was a bit spicy, though! For 260€/night/room I was expecting at least a small fridge in room. There was none! At the end of July... Normally, one can have breakfast and dinner at the hotel (on a cost), but I cannot tell how the food, the restaurant, the terrace or the pool (facility which we paid for) are because we simply were not allowed to use them for the all 3 days we "camped" there. Lady owner clearly explained that not all guests have the same rights and she can decide who can use the facilities and who can not! Considering that this attitude was not pointed towards other guests, I cannot wonder if this discrimination had nothing to do with the fact that we are not French people. The owners have no respect for the paying customers at all! Lady owner's motto is: "It's my hotel and I can do whatever I want! Don't like it, just leave!" (with no reimbursement, of course!). She told it to us many times. We would have left, but, unfortunately, it is pretty hard to just leave when travelling with children and no refund given. Luckily for us, the surroundings offer many things to do, so we managed to stay away from the hotel most of time, returning there just for sleeping.

A l'arrière de l'établissement, une belle terrasse accueille les dîneurs quand la météo le permet. Très agréable de surplomber ainsi un ruisseau qui chantonne en contrebas en glissant sur les galets ! De quoi plaire aux romantiques qui peuvent en outre faire un excellent repas en piochant dans une carte (pas de menu) sympathique aux accents du terroir. En entrée, pendant que mon conjoint dégustait un tartare de saumon (pas vraiment du terroir, lui !), je me régalais d'une excellente soupe de poisson. Après, place à un bar et à une daurade à la provençale, avec, entre autres, une très bonne ratatouille, Un crible à la fraise et une tarte Tatin terminaient le dîner en beauté. Courte carte des vins à prix très corrects consacrée au seul Domaine des Bormettes de La Londe. Je ne peux rien dire sur l'hôtel dont je n'ai pas utilisé les services, mais l'accueil des patrons a été charmant. Et le resto mérite la visite.

Hôtel très propre, bien décoré, les chambres sont joliment décorées. Nous avions une chambre située sur la rue mais cela reste un village calme donc pas de problème de nuisances sonores. nous avons pris le petit déjeuner qui reste correct. Nous avons également dîné. Les plats sont bons mais peut-être un peu chers. Nous avons trouvé les gérants très à l’écoute des clients. Seul bémol il faut laisser la voiture sur un grand parking situé à l’entrée du village.

Très bonne expérience et très bon accueil. Hôtel charming, chambre double confort, parfaite et spacieuse. Lieu de repos, terrasse pour dîner extérieur, ou intérieur le soir suivant. Décoration de bon goût, mobilier entre modernité et néo ancien sympa. Cuisine de bon niveau, pas commercial, bien préparé, accompagné de vins de bon rapport qualité prix. Endroit accueillant et calme. Nous ne pouvions pas trouver mieux dans ce charmant petit bourg. Les autres endroits nous ont paru plus populaires, bruyants et commerciaux pour tourisme de base. Les commentaires lus après notre retour sont injustes et orientés pour nuire me semble t il. Essayez cet endroit vous ne serez pas déçus. Frédéric et Anik.

Je ne comprends pas tous ces avis "hargneux" précédents car nous avons été bien reçus et la chambre conforme à la description du site à part une télévision à grand écran pas si grand que cela, mais c'est un détail! La chambre grand confort coté rivière était, comme le reste de l'hôtel joliment décorée et très calme. La terrasse pour les petits déjeuner et le diner est elle aussi très agréable. Je trouve simplement que le prix est trop cher par rapport aux services offerts (pas de parking ni de coffre dans la chambre, piscine très petite). Mais je ne connait pas les prix pratiqué alentour.....

1ere fois que je suis obligé de poster un avis sur les propriétaires au lieu de l’hôtel. Le pire des accueils, je n’étais clairement pas le bienvenue. Le proprio était en train de se plaindre des ses clients devant moi, qu’il en avait ras le bol de s’occuper de l’hôtel avec ses clients qui se plaignent tout le temps! Je crois que ce métier n’est pas pour lui mais d’après ce qu’il pouvait dire, il partira à la retraite bientôt. En attendant, NE VISITER PAS cet hôtel au risque d’être très mal reçu.

Je ne recommande pas cette hôtel du tout! Le propriétaire nous a extrêmement mal reçu, très mal poli et plutôt arrogant. Très dommage car l’hôtel est plutôt sympa, mais l’accueil nous a vraiment choqué, et c’est le propriétaire donc personne pour ce plaindre hormis donner un avis plutôt négatif sur le web. Bon courage à lui mais je pense que son hôtel ne devrait pas durer très longtemps…

Annonce des chambres fausse, chambre double confort indiquée avec terrasse alors qu'elle n'a pas de terrasse. Vous l'expliquez gentiment à la patronne par téléphone, elle vous dit que vous vous trompez puis d'apprendre à lire et vous raccroche au nez. Je n'ai pas pour habitude de mettre des commentaires négatifs, celui là est vraiment mérité.
