I’ve stayed at El Canario several times over the last 30 years, but this time will be the last. The place has gone way downhill. TV didn’t work, only 1 lamp, no mini fridge, no dresser for storing clothes and one couldn’t put toilet paper into the toilet. The terrible TV reception was probably most problematic.

There was no hot water for 5 out of the 6 days and it wasn’t until the last night that they said we could switch rooms after mentioning it twice and being told it’s because the hose was being used outside. The floors were dirty and the shower head itself was too high so you couldn’t shower comfortably.

This hotel is an underrated gem if you like reasonable prices and are ok with dated, as opposed to cutting edge, decor and conditions. The desk help is great 24/7. Eddy went out of his way to make sure a bag with ally identification, wallet, and cards was returned when I left it in a car. You cannot buy this level of service.

I had reserved and paid for a Premium King but was given an Economy Double with no adjustment of price. Also, the TV didn't work, and the room was in disrepair. This is at best a 1* hotel. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, it may be fine.

This is the best hotel in candado. I left my bag with all my identity in a car. The front desk person Eddy was just beyond wonderful. He calmed my panic and helped me contact the driver so I could get everything back. He used the hotel and his own phone to help. You cannot, cannot, ever buy excellent and personal help in a crisis like this. I will NEVER stay anywhere else in condado as long as Eddy is here. Muchias gracias para servicio muy bueno y Altima

We got the last double room and it was very small and cramped. They needed more lighting, especially on the right side of the room with the second bed and more power outlets. Otherwise the hotel was great walking distance to everything and the staff was very nice.

You get for what you pay for. AC in our room never worked, we asked for a room change and they ignore us. The best thing was the dining options around the hotel and transportation, wouldn't stay here again.
