d’Angleterre is a superb hotel, an early 19th century masterpiece of a grand hotel, seamlessly updated into a very modern luxury experience. The staff has achieved just the right balance of friendliness and gracious service, and all seem genuinely happy to contribute to making your stay perfect. The junior suites are ideal, and the upper floor views across the square just wonderful. The location is ideal, with several Michelin rated restaurants nearby, (all welcoming and unstuffy, with incredibly delicious. menus) and easy access to the Metro and the waterways, not to mention fine shopping and numerous fun bistro. The hotel restaurant, Marcal, is one of those wonderful Michelin venues, and serves a delicious and varied buffet breakfast that is a destination meeting spot for local professionals. The city of Copenhagen is so vibrant and welcoming, bustling with a laid back healthy energy and a staggering variety of neighborhoods and milieux. Do visit both by land and by water, two very different experiences.
