Glynmill Inn

The atmosphere and accommodations of the Glynmill Inn are second to none. The experience of dining in the gorgeous dining room is spectacular (even for just a sandwich and fries). The surrounding gardens and grounds are a spectacular walk to take as well on a warm summer day.

Comfortable, classy, and affordable with good restaurant and sit-down breakfast included. Pond and walking path outside the hotel add to the quiet, relaxing atmosphere; great place to wander in the evening. Built in the 1920s in an English Tudor style.

We had a large room with super comfortable pillows and a comfortable king bed, the staff were all very courteous and the setting is beautiful with easy walking trails nearby and a scenic lake to walk around. It is easy to get to and close to a number of restaurants.

I would definitely stay there again if given the opportunity to re-visit Corner Brook. There is very little not to like about this place and my only suggestion for the hotel is a coat of paint on the front entry doors. They create a first impression that doesn't do this place justice. The bed was extremely comfortable. the halls and rooms very clean and well kept. Our room (a king suite) was very spacious and even provided for a separate bedroom, both had TVs. The staff were courteous and friendly, the food in the elegant dinning room was very good and not overly expensive. The attached pub also offered great beer and snacks ...... all reasonably priced. The location and surrounding grounds of the hotel are lovely and the walking trail is a real positive. If you're looking for a place to stay while in Corner Brook, I have no hesitation in recommending the Glynmill Inn. It's a stately old building that's well maintained.

Well presented 1920’s vintage Tudor-style hotel. We stumbled across it, after completing a great walk through the adjacent park. While we only had time for an enjoyable morning tea - it impressed as being a hotel we would have enjoyed staying at for a few nights at. The lunch and dinner menu looked good. It also has a nice little art gallery, displaying local work.

We loved this hotel. It is living history, used by Corner Brook mill supervisors at the turn of the century, one of two hotels built for that purpose. There is lots of original woodwork and original staircases, plus architecture that has been maintained as it was in its heydey. The gardens are also well-tended, with a front porch and chairs looking out to a pond beyond the circular driveway. Walking trails are both in front and behind the hotel. Though you can tell that some upkeep is needed on the outside of the hotel, the original, unique features have been maintained, and the rooms have been updated. There are two small elevators - one to the front of the hotel, and one to the back area where you will find the bar (with local entertainment) and meeting/dining rooms. Be prepareed to do a lot of walking if you use the stairs... or even if you don't. The water pressure is excellent - with soft water and good toiletries - plus a non-slip tub bottom. We missed counter top space in the bathroom and found the toilet rather low, a common feature in Newfoundland hotels. The room includes a desk, dresser, coffeemaker, chair bedside clock and small TV. There are a good number of electrical outlets, and Wi-Fi works well. The A/C also works well, but we had to turn it off for most of the night because, even on 'low', it blows across the bed. We had great breakfast food with four menu choices and plenty of fresh food to eat. Our large tour group made it difficult to get fast service. Like all places, staffing continues to be a problem. The beautiful dining room is an experience in itself - paintings are historical, the windows exquisite, and the table settings were wonderful. We felt that we were in a very special place. Two night stay but arriving at 1am and departing at 2am the following day due to work. Well looked after by the night shift and luckily had the comfiest bed ever for the few hours of sleep I could get because of my travel plans. Food in the restaurant was excellent and what a great place to stay! Will be returning for work in Spring and will hope to get in here again!

Great stay at the Glynnmill. Large King room (suite) in corner. Really nice walking paths around hotel. Interior of hotel is very charming (yes the carpet could do with replacing in hall, but the rest of the woodwork makes up for it). Nice meal and breakfast. Close to downtown.

Old hotel which has seen better days. Not in bad shape but not fantastic. The floors creak so if someone is on the floor above, you'll hear it. Nice location. Glass shelf in the bathroom had at least a inch difference from one side to the other. Get a level! Put anything on the shelf and watch it slide. Food was ok.
