We just completed 4 nights in the beautiful Italian Alps and we can’t recommend enough this property. Dagmar and the entire Ebner family went of their way to make our stay exceptional. Our updated junior suite was very comfortable and full of details. We booked half board and enjoyed the restaurant service especially Orazio. Alec thrilled us with a special fondue dinner one night that was amazing and worth the cost. We are already booked for a ski trip next year.

We booked this family run hotel through Alpine Answers and it has delivered the best ski holiday experience in over 40 years. The perfect quiet location in Colfosco, it is on the Sellaronda route with easy access to the Marmalada and Hidden Valley experience in the Italian Dolomites. The hotel shuttle bus delivers us to the slopes in a few minutes and the ski hire shop collects the skis on the last evening. The après-ski outdoor Spa has a stunning mountain backdrop and the pool is just big enough for laps. Breakfast and evening buffets are sumptuous and delicious. Loyal and hardworking staff try very hard to ensure you enjoy your stay including the effervescent efficient Sasha. I would award this hotel a full five stars and can’t wait to return next year.

Been here 3 times with friends for winter skiing and we absolutely love it. Staff are superb, food is amazing, rooms are excellent and facilities are simply amazing. I can’t recommend a stay here enough. And it’s sensibly priced. The spa and pool areas are sooo good with incredible views of the mountains. The food and restaurant are excellent with a really great and sensibly priced wine list.

It quickly becomes clear that the Kolfuschgerhof is not your usual 4-Star Austrian ski hotel. The hotel has had some major improvements and upgrades that makes you wonder how come it is not categorized to be 5-Star. You first of all get the feeling that this is a family run hotel, the staff cares, and attention is paid to details. They will sort your ski rental, lift cards, lunch reservations, transport and everything else. We really had a lot of requests, and it was never a problem. Secondary, the facilities are really great. The super cozy newly built lounge area with fireplaces, a bar, boardgames and a panoramic view over the ski area, this is the perfect area to have a hot drink and relax after returning from skiing. The newly built outdoor hot-water pool, spa area and gym are also top notch. The large indoor pool was a hit with our son. We stayed in one of the older rooms as we booked very late, but it was perfectly fine, and actually had some old school charm to it. That being said, then we will book at bit earlier next year to get new room. Food was in general, like in the whole area, very good. Lots of choice, and a kitchen that does not mind changing the menu a bit on request. Only maybe the breakfast needs a bit of an update, it seemed a bit 80’s like. The restaurant service was excellent, attentive, friendly, and fast. The hotel has a ski-room with boot dryers, and a free on-demand ski-shuttle, where we never waited more than a few minutes. We stayed a week and really had zero complains (doesn’t happen often), it was the perfect ski holiday, we will be back for sure! Recommended restaurants: - Jimmi’s Hütte: Close to Kolfuschgerhof, some of the best food in the whole area. - Armentarola: Old School hotel with huge outdoor terrace, amazing Italian food. Perfect place for lunch in the sun. - Friedrich August: Pizza place with amazing pizzas. The place is a bit chaotic though. - Steakhouse l’Fana: In La Villa, amazing meats, come for dinner. - Edelweis Hütte: The restaurant part, not the self-service. In the Colfosco area, excellent food – average service. Skiing: - Sella Ronda: The famous round trip, takes a whole day including lunch, can be done clockwise or counterclockwise. Has some bottleneck under-dimensioned lifts, so get up early to do it. Okay to do once but skip it during absolute high-season. - The ski area to the East is in general better, less people and wider and better slopes. Here one also finds the famous Gran Risa world cup slope. - Lagazuoi ski tour: Amazing ski tour on top of the mountain. Take the shuttle from Armentarola to the Lagazuoi lift, then ski down the 7,5 km amazing piste, stop at the Scotoni hut in the middle for lunch or freshly baked Krapfen. At the end of the piste take the horse lift back to Armentarola. Amazing scenery and piste.

We last visited in Summer 2016, so it was a totally different experience in Winter 2024. Previously there was no really significant Wellness facility, but this time WOW! A very warm welcome; excellent and friendly service; fabulous breakfasts and dinners; really comfortable accommodation; on demand transport to the local village and ski areas. Simply stunning views and very adequate gym. All in all, it was another truly unforgettable experience.

The hotel is generally a good spot to explore skiing in South Tyrol, first of all in the Sella Ronda area. Located in Colfosco/Corvara it suites to beginners and intermediate skiers, at the same time there are also enough challenging slopes for experts. It was our first visit to the hotel, but not to the area with which we are very good acquainted. The hotel seems to be rebuild and expanded to rather big size for the local standards. Having at the same time very limited grounds, might led to a number of mistakes in design of rooms and upper free pool area. At the same time the owners could easily improve some drawbacks, however not the initial design. In summary the assessment of the scala 10: Location - 9: nearly ski in /ski out, but still not, you do need a very short drive to the slope Rooms - 7: we had one new double and one old single room for our daughter. The first was rather nice, but not big enough for the price and some furniture did not pass there. The second was extremely small, less than in the web site without any view maybe due to not very clever hotel reconstruction Sleep quality - 7: our room was overlooking hotel entrance which was very busy for some trucks/delivery/housekeeping work since 5 am every morning Food - 8: I think this is in what hotel is investing the most of money. The result - huge quantity and good assortment, but I’d rather had higher quality and a bit less variety. I think the hotel foes not really know which concept to run and remains just good family and pets friendly hotel for everybody Price/quality - 7: because of what was said above. They shall either lower prices or improve certain things like: Outdoor SPA on the roof - 8: the idea to have an open pool is fantastic, but realisation poor. There is no heated or even covered from rain and snow ways from the hotel building to the alone standing pool which makes the access to it not only unsuitable, but sometimes dangerous due to slippery stony floor. At least the hotel could provide water resistant slippers or ask clients to bring them from their homes. The web site keeps complete dilence on these issues. Personal -8: rather impersonal at the reception, but very good in the dining room. Reception and communication inside the hotel have to be improved Ski room - 7: two reasons for low note, first the ski boxes are narrow and provide no possibility to hang your ski jacket there. And what is more important they do not blow hot air into your ski boots, but just warm the element, as a result our boots were never dry in the morning In spite of all issues described above due to very good location, good food and acceptable other items the hotel could be definitely recommended for a ski vacation

After visiting in February we came back for Christmas. It was magical. The area is perfect for beginner and intermediate skiers and the hotel was even better than before. The Christmas celebrations were really special and the food and facilities were all perfect. We are so grateful to the Ebner family for their continued hospitality and hope to see them again soon.

After our visit in December 2022 we decided to return this year as we had enjoyed all aspects of this hotel. However this visit was disappointing with a significant deterioration in many things. It was particularly embarrassing as some friends had come with us on the basis of our recommendation. On this occasion we had paid extra for an executive room which although large did not have a bath. The room remained cold for the duration of our stay despite asking for the heating to be turned up. Of particular concern was the service in the dining room which was very poor. Breakfast was a buffet and the only thing that had to be requested was coffee which on some days arrived half an hour after we had finished eating. The service in the evening was no better with delays and mix ups. There was a palpable tension among the staff some evenings. Whilst some of the dishes were nice others were dire e.g. a roasted vegetable tart served as a main consisted of 2 small pieces of pepper and 2 equally small bits of courgette. Indeed some of the dishes were inedible and perhaps the worst Italian food I have had. Other things remained the same namely the charming music bar and the excellent shuttle service to the slopes. Sadly we will not be returning.
