The highlight of this property is the incredible staff. They are so welcoming, so attentive, and truly want to ensure that you have a great stay. Additionally, it’s extremely easy to book excursions through the staff, who provide detailed information on what to expect/where to go. The property itself is quite outdated, and I wasn’t lucky enough to stay in one of the updated rooms. Instead, I was in one of the older rooms. It had a brand new mini-fridge and the AC ran high with no issue. I did find it odd that there weren’t any washcloths though.
A few things worth noting; The bed was painfully hard. The buffet was subpar (especially for a vegetarian). One night at the buffet dinner, I wanted to bring a plate back to my room and I was told that it was only allowed via room service. However, that’s a specified menu (again, less options for a vegetarian) AND they upcharge for room service. I just found that a little silly that I wasn’t supposed to bring my own dinner to my room but someone else could bring it. Finally, the gentleman who sells (very pretty) sculptures by the dive shop would ask me if I was ready to purchase every time I walked by. I ended up avoided the beach area during that second half of my stay for that reason. I admit that I’m not the best at saying a direct ’no’, but I also didn’t expect to feel ‘pressured to buy’ at the resort.
