we live locally and enjoy having breakfast there occasionally as well as drinks in the bar. We always had a pleasant experience and the gardens and views are magnificent. we have not stayed in the room but they look characterful and clean. I like the fact that the decor has attempted to capture the spirit of the place.

We popped in here for drinks and certainly had a pleasant time in this cavernous establishment. Undoubtedly Covid has had a massively detrimental effect upon this industry, but this hotel is almost too empty and large and despite a refurbishment, (which eradicated all the previous tartan), it’s not very welcoming. We have heard that the hotel has been sold and we’d be appalled if the place has been sold to developers for housing. It’s a huge site and with the right owners with the right vision, this place could eventually be a gold mine.

We stayed one night Friday 19th November 2021, had a lovely large double room at the back, very quiet looking over golf course. Nice little area near reception offering chilled water and expresso coffee. The reception staff were nice and friendly and breakfast was really good. Would defiantly stay here again hopefully when the leisure complex is open

Over half our Guests for our daughters wedding we’re booked in from last year for this December and have now been told due to unforeseen circumstances they are all cancelled this is disgusting I would not recommend this hotel again and our venue has been advised not to use

Although the hotel looks impressive, it is far from luxury and definitely not 4 star. We had several rooms booked for a family wedding with our room being on the lower ground floor. The room was stifling hot and the bathroom radiator was too hot to touch. The furniture was well passed its best and no fridge or mini bar. The beds (2 doubles family room) were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were the hardest I have ever found. On the day of the wedding and after a bad nights sleep for all of us, we were looking forward to a nice breakfast. ....... we were to be disappointed ☹️ everything was almost cold with the sausage being too hard to slice. I think they used the same sausages the next morning because they were even harder. Meeting at the bar for a pre wedding drink we discovered that they had no Gordon’s gin and several of the beers we requested weren’t available. In all, it was not a good experience and I would definitely not go back and would not recommend it.
