I can safely say Intercontinental is one of the best hotels in Dalian after having stayed in many Dalian hotels. For starters we got a room upgrade and early check in and late check out. The hotel also gave us complimentary coffee and fruit soon after checking in. The room was clean, comfortable, modern and had a gorgeous city view. The amenities were satisfactory and their Breakfast buffet had a wide range of Western and Chinese cuisine to choose from. Special thanks to Jason from the fitness centre and Winnie and Kevin from the front desk for their excellent service they especially made sure our stay was enjoyable. The only downside is that I think the Chinese restaurant staff could use some training the service there was the least professional but in my opinion it didn't takeaway from the overall experience.

Facilities: Complete and well maintained. Hygiene: Very hygienic, from the room to the corridor, lobby, and restaurant. Environment: The environment is elegant, and there is a noble and elegant fragrance as soon as you enter the lobby. This taste has not changed in twenty years. I've stayed at this location multiple times. It is a good location and I enjoy the house band in the pub (located in the basement). The Kempeski is definitely showing its ago, however. The marblework in the bathroom is cracked and some of the flooring is stained. The public bathroom (to the right of the lobby) is in desperate need of a makeover, i.e. recaulk the edges of the lavatory and do a deep steam cleaning of all tile. Breakfast was superb and the wait staff was doing a great job turning tables around for the next customers. I would probably stay again, but only if the prices are reduced.

Hotel Nikko is a throwback to the 1990's. It is well maintained and very comfortable hotel. In fact, I moved from another 5 star hotel to this one mid weekend. The decor is a little dated, BUT of the 3 hotels in downtown Dalian that I have used over this last year I think Nikko is my favorite. Their service is excellent. The food is good. (Breakfast is great and the Japanese restaurant is good) The atmosphere of the hotel is very nice and upscale. I like that there is a Lawson's near the lobby, in the adjoining office/apartment building. When I called to request they lower the temperature in my room, they said they could not adjust the thermostat; however, they did offer me a fan. Within 5 minutes housekeeping brought a very nice standing fan which worked great. My next trip downtown I think I'll start with Hotel Nikko.

I stayed in an executive room. The service provided by the executive lounge team was amazing (actually the best I have received in China). The breakfast and afternoon tea in the lounge was amazing. One day I went to the buffet for breakfast and was disappointed by the cleanliness of it, so I decided to just eat at the lounge. The laundry team was also great. They noticed one of my dresses had a small issue so they fixed it. Most of the staff spoke at least some English, it was the first time in China that even the housekeeper could speak English.

Hotel was very nice. The hotel had great facilities and the breakfast was excellent. The one thing they need to change is the beds. They aren’t very comfortable and they are springy.

This hotel was in a great location as next to railway and metro station. Unfortunately the power was cut off for the entire block. It was fortunate that the hotel was able to refund part of the stay. I had to checkout when the power was cut off again the following night. This isn’t the fault of the hotel but they tried their best in a bad situation. When I checked in they brought tray of snacks and a letter explaining how they were sorry they could not speak English. This was a nice touch and I commend the front staff for their sincerity. The only reason I took off a star was that the hallway carpet was in an old state and could use an overhaul. Other than that great staff and hotel.

How can I put it this way? This old hotel is hard to describe. You said its location is good. It is indeed in the city center, close to the train station and railway tracks, but the small environment is really unsatisfactory. I stayed in a street view room, so I couldn't see the train or the sea, and I couldn't hear the noise of the train. You can call it old. It is true that the decoration style is very old. You can see its antique style through the elevator decoration, but the interior is indeed well maintained. It should have been very high-end back then, and the hotel management was good. The hotel's marketing is very good. The elevators were full in the mornings during my stay for a few days, and the office buildings were busy during the morning rush hour. It seemed that many companies were holding meetings here, conducting trainings, etc., so there were quite a lot of people staying. The airline also uses this place as a dormitory, and there are many stewardesses. The hotel service can only be described as so-so, not very enthusiastic, but still professional and meticulous. The furniture and facilities are relatively old and the hygiene is average. Breakfast was not booked, so I didn’t experience it.

It is a password room, not a magnetic card room. The front desk apartment area goes straight to the elevator on the 7th floor in a small room. However, the price is cheap, or the sea view room, the bed tables and chairs are very clean. Because it is a viewing room, I took a few photos taken from the high altitude. More than 100 hotels can see such a good scenery, which is very cost-effective! Facilities: Complete facilities. Hygienic: The mattress is clean and tidy, and the bathroom is very clean. This hotel is my favorite place to stay when I return to Dalian in 2023. Let me talk about the advantages: 1. Excellent location, you can solve everything in a hundred steps: 2. The bedding is excellent and your sleep is better than at home. 3. The room service lady is kind, diligent and responsive to all requests. 4. The breakfast is rich in variety, and the tea, fruits and snacks picked up by the front desk are very considerate and pleasant. 5. Self-service laundry room and treadmill (although the instruments are not easy to use) 6. You can hail a taxi at the door, which is friendly to the elderly. 7. The two boys at the front desk are young and professional. Regardless of whether they can meet the needs of customers, they do their best. shortcoming: The young girl at the front desk is really a decoration and a burden. Almost the first reaction when a guest makes a request is: no, no, no, no sense of service at all 😂 and the response is slow and inefficient. There are no photos taken in the room, it is a standard room, the equipment and facilities are quite complete, and the sanitation is very clean. The location is very good, walking forward is Shanghai Road, Tianjin Street, and there is a snack street. Later, I found out that because I came to Dalian, I was entertained by friends. The food I ate in the hotel tasted good. (When I came to Dalian, I mostly ate seafood.) I will stay here again next time and experience the snack street.
