Rooms are falling apart. The ac was leaking and a moldy wet spot could clearly be seen by maintenance when they came to look at the ac return vent. Maintenance even said that “hot water was dripping in there”. After they looked at the ac they also left a bunch of insulation and screws all over the floor. House keeping was only available by request and when they changed our bed sheets they placed torn ones on the bed. Not exactly four star hotel status especially for an important event (our wedding)…. There were spots all over the ceiling, the sliding door to the terrace did not lock and their jacuzzi was drained and roped off despite being told over the phone that it was working before one of our friends booked there.

I could tell the hotel had been really nice once. It had just weathered a storm a lot of the rooms were not working. My room did not have electricity by the bed nor did the phone work. other than that, trip.com got the wrong dates on my reservation. They book me for Saturday and Sunday leaving Monday, but my conference, the only reason for my trip, started Monday. Essentially they had me checking out on the day the conference was to begin. I told them immediately but they did nothing about it. trip.com not worth the effort. The Shores resort and spa Daytona Beach will be back and certainly worth the stay if you can get over the front desk staff…. except for the one with the purple ish colored hair. she’s a keeper.

I enjoyed the magnificent view (had a room with a balcony & ocean view). I liked that there was a restaurant & bar in the hotel. The food was good. I had a few issues with my room (chairs & table on the balcony hadn't been cleaned, the TV wasn't working properly, only had 2 hangers when I arrived, & the bathroom sink was stopped up. However all of these things were addressed & resolved right away, so I appreciated that. I never reported that the shower floor needed to be cleaned, but I'm sure it would have been addressed had I reported it.The hotel was beautiful overall. I was disappointed when the live entertainment was cancelled (that was one of the determining factors for choosing this hotel), but I was at least able to enjoy a comedy magic show, which was awesome. Overall, good customer service as well, especially Julian & Andre (maintenance guys).

Very nice to be on shore with the beautiful beach. Friendly staff. Bed not so comfortable. I didn't like the lots of extra fees that wasn't explained.
