I tried cancelling my booking after I read the reviews but they wouldn't let me. However on the day of my flight it was very sunny and I enjoyed making my way across Auckland and taking the ferry to Devonport. The dinner was a bit too expensive but all in all it was a good way to spend a long stop over in Auckland

Great holiday. The Esplanade is perfectly placed to catch the ferry downtown and Devonport is lovely with interesting shops and great beaches.

Average stay, room could do with a lot of r&m, old building with character. Clean enough but a lot of wear and tear. The location is excellent to get around

The location is great - right near the water in Devonport. I got a free park right outside. While the room wasn’t fancy and wouldn’t be for everyone, it was actually pretty cool that its an older building and still has that character. The room was dark, quiet and the bed was comfortable. For the price (which was very reasonable), I was happy and would stay here again.

This is a historical hotel. It used to be a great and attractive hotel. Its scenic view is great
However， the elevator is old and makes some noise.
As a whole, compare to other hptel in auckland it does still deserve to book and live in this hotel at this price.

Stunning views, close to transport, city, Waiheke, excellent beaches.
Lovely cotton sheets, great food, bar and entertainment.

The hotel was convenient and comfortable, it was a little dated but functional. I did not use the restaurant however it was good to know that there was one on site. I was a little disappointed that the check-in lady did not give me correct information regarding the ferry sailings, but it didn't ruin the trip.
I was surprised how quiet it was in the room.

I thought great...let's stay at a pub north of Auckland. The villiage around the hotel is great. The room was ok for a night, but there is no atmosphere, no restaurant, no breakfast....it's sad, nice place but just was a bit dead
