Castella Beach

BEWARE! My husband and I often travel to this part of Greece to visit family. Over the past years we stayed at Poseidon Palace that recently closed so we picked Castella Beach Hotel because it was close to our relative’s house. This hotel is run by a brother and sister. We arrived late afternoon in April 2024 and spent the night. The next morning my husband went to breakfast and spoke with the brother letting him know that we did not need our room cleaned since we were only there for one more night. Twice that morning the brother said to my husband that no one would enter our room. We left after breakfast to visit our family. As usual, when we stay in a hotel, we set up a Ring camera. On the way back, after our visit, the ring went off. I looked and saw that it was the sister entering our room. She went to the first suitcase, realized that it was locked, then proceeded to search my suitcase which was open on the floor. I had one side completely zipped up for clothes I needed for the second part of our trip. She then un-zipped it and pulled out a dress and held it up. The light flashed on the camera, so she immediately stuffed the dress in the suitcase and ran out. We arrived a few minutes later and confronted her. The brother came out and denied that she would do that, but she turned to him and said, “They have a camera!” She tried to apologize, but we could find no reason why she would need to go through our luggage other than to steal. The brother tried to say she was going in just to clean, but note, she has no cleaning supplies with her. We packed our suitcases and left. The piece de resistance was when we looked at our credit card statement...they charged us for both nights!

This is our second stay here, a lovely family run hotel and restaurant in an idyllic area right by the Aegean Sea. The staff and service are super friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. They’re are other restaurants within walking distance, the nearest village is a 1km walk away, however, we loved this place for its peace and quiet even their pets are super friendly. It was my partners birthday on the last day we were there and they made the special effort of baking a special lemon cheesecake made by Maria and put flowers on our table. What an amazing team. Thank you and we will be back again very soon!

Castella Beach Hotel is a small hotel in Alissos area , which is after Patra city. I stayed at this hotel for 1 week as a part of my 2 weeks summer vacation. So here are what i found as positives and what as negatives Positives Very helpful and polite personnel Spotted on the beach ( literally ) Restaurant with very good food quality in good prices Rooms are cleaned every day ( including changing towels etc ) Free sunbeds for everyone that stays in the hotel Private parking ( charger is available for electrical car users ) Very reasonable prices even in high season Negatives Small rooms ( especially the bathroom has limited space ). Not a kind of big problem though as most of the time I wasn't there Poor breakfast Not very clean beach ( thrown cigarettes , straws etc ) The fair score for me is actually 3,5 and can easily hit a 4 with more variety in breakfast and if the beach is taken care of I would visit it again definitely !

Nous y avons passé une nuit lors de notre séjour en Grèce. La chambre était très bien avec vue sur mer. Le personnel était agréable et le restaurant bon et pratique pour se restaurer. L'accès à la plage se fait très facilement. Nous recommandons.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen, direkt am Meer. Tolle Terrasse mit Liegestühlen mit Blick aufs Meer uns Patras. Leider hatten wir dieses ein recht kleines Zimmer mit kleinem Balkon, war aber ok. Nur das Badezimmer ließ zu wünschen übrig: abgeplatzte Fliesen, Duschkabinenwand war defekt. Alles in allem sehr minimalistisch. Zimmer1 Nr. 11 war wohl das schlichteste Zimmer im Hotel. Essen war lecker, Service gut.

We zijn hier weer geweest en twee jaar geleden ook. Wat een fijne plek om te zijn. Vriendelijke ontvangst, goede keuken en het ontbijt is er vriendelijk. Mochtje hier eens verblijven dan hoop ik dat je net zo'n fijne tijd hebt als wij hebben gehad.

Υπηρεσίες χαμηλότερες των προσδοκιών. Κακό ξενοδοχείο,βρώμικα δωμάτια,κακή συμπεριφορά από την ιδιοκτήτρια η οποία δεν μας έλεγε ούτε καλημέρα. Το φαγητό κατεψυγμένο. Απίστευτα κακό σε όλα τα επίπεδα. Κλείσαμε στο συγκεκριμένο ξενοδοχείο πιστεύοντας ότι θα είναι καλά δυστυχώς όμως έγινε εφιάλτης. Will be better to stay on camping rather there. The worst vacation of our life . I am realy sorry.

Πάρα πολύ καλό κατάλυμα με τίμιαχρέωση! 15Αυγουστος 65€/βραδυ. Πεντακάθαρο και πολύ περιποιημένο. Μείναμε δύο βράδια και ήδη τη δεύτερη μέρα καθάρισαν. Έχει εστιατόριο στο χώρο του ξενοδοχείου (με μέτριο φαγητό αλλά εδώ κρίνω το ξενοδοχείο) και παραλία ακριβώς μπροστά για όποιον δε θέλει να μετακινηθεί. Το προσωπικό ευγενέστατο. Το μόνο αρνητικό το πρωινό που ήταν το απολύτως βασικό.

Hier afgelopen week overnacht, gedineerd en ontbeten. Erg vriendelijk en gastvrij ontvangen. Er is heerlijk voor ons gekookt. Het ontbijt was meer dan voldoende. Goed geslapen en daarna terug naar Athene. Wat ons betreft komen we terug bij een volgend bezoek.
