Jonathan Spa Estate

The place is beautiful, really is. Tucked away in the woods, surrounded by lakes, you feel very secluded. So secluded that when you start exploring the surroundings, you realise there isn’t much to do… pros: -gorgeous room (we stayed in superior room no 63) -beautiful balcony view (in addition, a very nice big balcony) -dinner and breakfast is delicious (the duck is fantastic!!) albeit bit pricey (main course ~30€) -staff is friendly -there is an outdoor jacuzzi -fantastic getaway place, so quiet and calm but about the cons: -quite overpriced for what you actually get (we paid 235€ for 1 night, and don’t think the experience was worth it) -“spa” is lacklustre. There is just one pool, that is REALLY cold. And three saunas, one was under maintenance, one smelled like old wet towels… finnish sauna was nice -outside the estate there is nothing to do (no national parks, walkable roads etc) -in the morning, it was impossible to get a warm shower, i waited for hot water until the lukewarm water turned cold again

Hotel has a very convenient and beautiful location: there is great opportunity to take a boat ride, a bike ride or simply enjoy the location by walking around. Nice and friendly staff. Beautiful and cosy rooms. A bit pricey,but good for some special ocasion, like we did.

Serenity and tranquility all around.. Beautiful boutique hotel in peaceful surroundings with multiple spa treatments, indoor pool, outdoor jacuzzi, restaurant and many more. Cosy place, tasty food, stunning sunrise and sunset. Could be an ideal place for private family event, or wedding. Can't recommend it enough.

We stayed in this hotel for few days in the attic apartment for 5 people. The apartment is nicely decorated, however is only equipped for 4 people, not 5. One of us had to sleep on the camp folding bed which is not that comfortable and you would expect a decent bed for €300 per night, wouldn’t you? The service in the restaurant was very slow, it has taken over 40 mins just to get the breakfast, the same problem was with dinner and the restaurant was not busy at all. Children were tired with waiting time and didn’t want to eat when food has arrived. However, the place is so tranquil, it is in a middle of nowhere with a lovely surroundings and opposite the lake. Spa facilities are of high standard with 3 working saunas, tea and coffee facilities and a lovely pool with loungers. The food in restaurant was very overpriced but tasty. The location is great and is not far away from Sigulda or Cesis. Raksi Zoo is also within a close distance. The hotel staff were very friendly and were doing their best. I can’t justify the price for the apartment of €300 per night but if you have a special occasion and spare cash it is a nice place to have a good rest away from busy city. I would stay here again.
