The Winnock Hotel

This hotel is a must .the food is fresh excellent .staff are second to none. Rooms fresh in undated comfy clean. I am a coach driver we usually get treated like dirt. This hotel has Never let me down they look after me .this reflects on my work and also my feedback to my passengers holiday.thankyou so so much winnick xx neil ogdens travel

Had a great stay with friends at this hotel. We came as part of a coach tour package and the hotel could not do enough for us. The lovely team were fantastic especially Morrin she was so cheerful and always smiling. Fantastic stay, just got back from a 3 night stay with my partner. Beautiful Hotel inside and out, Room 19 was well decorated comfortable and cleaned Daily from the nice cleaners, food was really nice ate in the restaurant and had the 3 course so nice. Breakfast was spot on, lots of choice. Wonderful staff made you feel very welcome and they was always hands on.. Thankyou for a wonderful stay .

Visited as part of a coach party 7-11 October. The staff welcomed us warmly, actually showed us to our room and then brought our cases from the coach to the room! They also collected the cases and took them out to the coach on the last morning - such a help! The room we had was large, very nice, clean and comfortable. Housekeeping came in every day, a bit of a rarity nowadays with some hotels. Their help was much appreciated. The public areas of the hotel were very good, welcoming and interesting. As the building is very old (probably several buildings originally), there were ramps and steps in the corridors. However, these are well-marked, with handrails, so caused no problems. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice and high quality plus good portions. Drinks in the bar were well-priced for such a quality hotel. The entire staff were excellent throughout our stay. Cheerful, helpful, friendly. The young man who did a quizz with us coach people, after dinner one night, was hilarious and quite wonderful! The man who invited us to a talk and demonstration about different kinds of weaponry used in hand-to-hand combat was very interesting. He clearly loved his subject! Only one very small negative - the WiFi access was intermittent in different parts of the building. Given the surroundings- hills and mountains - that was reasonably understandable. When I mentioned it to a member of staff, she explained and did her best to help, so thanks to her for that. All in all, an excellent stay and I would thoroughly recommend The Winnock.

What can I say . This is my third stay over a number of years . I arrived at around 1300 hrs , and was abruptly told check in was 1500 hrs I knew this but after the 12 mile walk I thought I would ask . I thought to myself, fair enough . I then asked if it was ok to leave my baggage . Put it over there with a pointed finger . I thought . We all have bad days don’t we. Went to bar , girl behind bar was so cheerful. Not The room was very nice a breakfast was great . So not to bad . If you don’t want to be pleasant don’t work forward facing with the public . To the management team I’d say rethink your front of house

The Winnock Hotel is in pretty village & a beautiful location. The surrounding grounds looks like a lot of hard work is being carried out by the Gardiners/Grounds Keeping Duo- five stars for them! Edged all the path round the back, flower pots over flowing with colour, cleared out all overgrowth in front of butchers, plus I see they neatly cut the Buchanan Arms hedge, we can now walk along the pavement safely, Thank you 🌹
