Mountain Villas

Perfect place to stay for an MTB race. Trails are right under the villas... Not to mention if you want to hike, there's the Superior Hiking Trail. The villas are air-conditioned, clean, comfortable, everything you need. Friendly staff. 🥰🥰

These villas are amazing!! Very spacious, clean, comfortable beds, great views, perfect amenities, and great location!! We loved the nearby hiking trails and Duluth is just minutes away!! We ended each day with a fire at one of their many fire pits. We will definitely will be booking again!!

Rented cabin #14 at Mountain Villas. I've never stayed here before, so didn't know what to expect. All villas are built on one middle support beam, with side (many are adjustable) poles / wooden legs in place. It took some time to learn to trust these side poles as the villa tilted a lot in the kitchen and living room areas. After figuring out that was "normal" we unpacked - very sparse, small kitchen, VERY dusty, but well maintained overall. Nice that they provided bath soap, coffee and dog treats! (This was one cabin that allowed dogs:) We also REALLY appreciated the deck where we could sit around a table outdoors. Many villas had very small decks that wouldn't even hold a table, so check this out in advance if it's important to you to enjoy the outdoors while there. On the downside, the plastic chairs on the deck were Extremely uncomfortable! I know they purchased them cheaply so no one walked away with them or in case they broke it wouldn't be too expensive to replace them, but damn...very sore butts indeed. But, like I said, at least we had a deck to enjoy. Good central place for the southern / eastern parts of SHT. Much more affordable than other places we found in Duluth - nice to be in the woods, although you hear a road near the place, it wasn't too bad.

I want to start by stating that I am not a picky or anal person and never leave reviews but I thought I needed to for this place. There was a ton of gross mildew on the floor near the toilet, shower and all around the tub also with cracked tiles. There was gross calk placed everywhere and black. The dishes were all very dirty in the cupboard w/ food crusted over most. The sofa leg was duck taped, many cracked ceiling panels and hot water ran out after one use. I was very disappointed as the owners didn’t take any pride in maintaining the place at all. It has lots of potential but I would never stay there again.

I've stayed at Mountain Villas at least 4 times now. Each villas is particular to its owner. I like Villa number 5 because it is spotlessly clean, not cluttered and well organized. It is also pet accessible. There are walking trails below the villas and the Spirit Mountain Ski hill is just steps away. The tubing hill is nearby and you can drive there easily in 2 minutes. The scenic view from the windows is beautiful as well as the sunrises on the deck. Pack light so you're not encumbered with carrying stuff and enjoy your time.
