It was a bit confusing as the hotel (a building on a campus) changed names between my booking and arrival. Parking was tricky as there were literally 2 spaces available after driving all over campus to find one (and the one we chose turned out to not be the proper space...) due to construction blocking use of the nearby lot. After all that, the stay was wonderful - lovely nature, gardens and architecture on campus; the room was extremely nice with a good selection of hot beverages; the location is right below Arthur's Seat with a walk to begin the Royal Mile at Holyrood Palace; the breakfast was delicious (try the haggis - it's delicious!) with buffet and hot food included; and the desk attendant was very helpful to two weary travellers and directed us to the convenient Salisbury Arms for a delicious dinner and a**osphere.

Room is small (same as what was posted online) but a 32" luggage cannot be opened fully. minimal walking space in the room.
Not much table space for work, location is abit far off. Didnt realise the 'distance' while booking.
Lovely view from room - sneek peak of Arthur Seat, woke up with birds chirpping, pretty relaxing
No aircon in the room, so need to open the window for ventilation
Bathroom is small, water takes sometime to be hot and water will splash out on the floor. There was water leakage from the corner of the glass panel, which made a puddle of water after each shower.
Front desk and bar service was fantastic, very friendly folks.

It was an amazing experience! New, clean room in a calm and quiet campus area. You may need a taxi to travel back and forth if you have a lot of luggage, but the hotel is still within walkable distances from the city centre.
Friendly and welcoming staff members and decent amenities in the room. Everything looks clean and not dusty. Even the mirrors are carefully wiped!
What a hotel! I'll definitely be coming back next time in Edinburgh.

This hotel was just perfect for me.
Spacious and well organised rooms with plenty of drawers to put your stuff. The only minus is that there is a narrow passage between the wall and a king-size bed, but at the same time you have a separate section in the room with a big desk, a big drawer and a cozy armchair.
Everything neat and clean.
Breakfast was delicious and served in style. You order by menu.
All the staff was super nice. Many thanks to them for creating such a hospitable environment!

The most amazing hidden gem.
Great deal for one night b&b even though it was 6 Nations rugby weekend .
The room was extremely comfortable with beautifully scented locally sourced shower gels and shampoo in the immaculately presented bathroom .
As for the staff …despite being extremely busy everyone we came across had a smile and helpful conversation . The receptionist even took us to the gate to guide us to the bus stop having printed off a timetable . Only 10 minutes and £2 into the city centre . £9 for taxi back so with the cost of city centre parking it’s a no brainer to use the free onsite parking .
Breakfast did not disappoint either and was far from ordinary and totally delicious . Sadly there was no time to sample other meals however …I we shall be back ! Very well done .

We were arriving at the hotel at night but the reception was very helpful to let us check in and nicely shown us the parking area.
The room is very clean and nice. There are few breakfast to choose from and all are very tasty.
Excellent location, surely will return to this hotel again for next trip.

I had a fantastic time at "The Scholar" hotel and couldn't be more pleased with the overall experience. Firstly, the service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
