The receptionist of the hotel staff told us when we checked in that the hotel did not provide complimentary shower gel and shampoo and told us that the shower gel and shampoo cost £1 each, we were very surprised by this as such an encounter was like nothing we had ever encountered in our lives. The bath was in a hygienic condition with water stains and a lot of stains on the drain, it didn't look like it had been cleaned carefully, my wife and I cleaned it again with a towel and sterilised it with a disinfectant before we dared to use it. The facilities were awful, and when we found out we couldn't use the TV to play youtube, we chose to use a USB stick to play the TV that we had downloaded in it. But no matter what we tried, the usb port on the TV just wouldn't read the usb stick. I suspected it was a problem with my USB stick, so I plugged the discs into my and my wife's computers separately - without exception they read successfully, indicating that it wasn't a problem with the USB stick. Frustrated, we connected to wifi, but the wifi bandwidth was very slow and the signal was poor.

A lovely hotel with great service. Was there over the Christmas holidays, the hotel staff was kind to tell us possible restaurants that are open during that time. The room was clean and spacious.
The location was near several supermarkets and restaurants. It was nearer to the castle area but it is quite a nice walk to the main shopping area and Scott monument.

A nice place to live in Edinburgh. The reception is kind and the service is convenient.
However, in our day 2, we found a pest in bathroom. What a pity…
