On The Walk

Beware of this business!! All may be well until you need to make changes to your booking. We emailed and called in excess of 20 times only to reach a voicemail which was obviously not monitored. Emails were never responded to. We needed to cancel the first night of our booking and contacted the property numerous times well ahead of their 14 day cut off to no avail. I was finally able to speak to someone on the day of our booking. At that stage, we had still not been sent the entry codes. I was told the business had changed hands and they had no record of the bookings. While they then did send us me the entry codes, they have still not refunded the first night's fee. I was told that the new owner had to speak to the old owner and they would contact me. I called again the following week. And texted. And called a few weeks later. Then I was told the owner is on holidays in Korea and the person did not know when they will be back. If you are thinking of booking with this business, be aware that you are likely to never see your money if you need to make any changes

The place is nicely situated close to Tram points. We had an issue that was quickly resolved, but on moving the beds discovered a great deal of dust. Getting in the apartment was fiddly. Wouldn’t go again.

Booked in February for a trip in June, and paid £150 for 2 nights, in advance. They had a complicated method of entry as it is not staffed. I was supposed to get a link on my phone to enter the building and my room the day before. No link was sent, so I emailed them, no reply. I turned up and couldn't get in, as there was a keypad to which I didn't have the code. I had to find alternative accomodation, walking in the rain dragging a suitcase and carrying a heavy backpack. The first hotel was full, so they sent me to the hostel down the road, who were full but managed to accommodate me. Thanks to the nice young lady on reception. I didn't know but On the Walk had changed ownership between booking and visit, which no one had bothered to tell me. I am still trying to get a refund weeks later. I would advise avoid at all costs.

Everything you need for a short break in Edinburgh with just a short walk to Cinema, theatre and shops. Nice warm room with unique and quirky furnishings, spotlessly clean, nice hot shower, coffee machine and even a small fridge. I met a friend and we stayed here for two nights would be happy to stay there again.

Absolutely excellent experience, very comfortable accommodation. Secure access. There was a bit of a situation, which was dealt with efficiently quickly, and professionally. Well what a find. Nice part of town with lots of coffee shops and bars. Easy to access the city with tram and buses outside. Room was clean and modern but couldn't get the TV to work, only on demand content. The only issue for us was the arrival process as the virtual keys did not work and the telephone number on the email was to someone no longer associated with the premises. The number on the website worked and we were then able to get in. As a property with no staff this bit needs to be faultless and wasn't. Only reason not for the full five stars.

Stayed at On The Walk Hotel , this weekend, Friday to Sunday. Fantastic clean hotel, big room, more like a suite, excellent amenities, great location, easy access with the key less process. Could not fault anything. When I booked, the person I spoke to even advised me of free off street parking on Pilrig Street, 5 minute walk away, where we left our car all weekend! Would highly recommend, thank you On The Walk!

Lovely clean room. Comfortable beds and good quality toiletries and tea and coffee facilities. Close to centre of Edinburgh. Good wifi and heating and tv options. Netflix and other extra channels. The only downside was getting through the main gate. It's very stiff and had to push hard.

Good little find, modern contemporary hotel. About 20 minutes walk from city centre. Comfortable, very clean. We’d come back. Some nice cafes nearby, close to the theatre and cinema. Would recommend word of mouth cafe for breakfast.
