Africa on Foot

I have just spend three fantactic days on your Africa on Foot walking trail from the Chacma Lodge. I arrived Friday Sept. 20. and meet with Skye, Ed and the other three people who was to be on the walking safari. Everyting was well organised, clean and in a very friendly atmosphere. The luggage was handled by the service team and we climbed the safari vehicle to the first game drive taking us to the first camp. The guides showed huge knowledge on the wildlife.

I arrived Friday Sept. 20. and meet with Skye, Ed and the other three people who was to be on the walking safari. Everyting was well organised, clean and in a very friendly atmosphere. The luggage was handled by the service team (Amu, Lucas and Thabo) and we climbed the safari vehicle to the first game drive taking us to the first camp. Skye and Ed already showed some of their huge knowledge not only on the larger animals, but also on small animals, trees and plants and geoligy, history etc. Back to camp for dinner prepared over fire by the three guys in the service team (great job they do!) Early to bed ready for first walking trail 05.30 in the morning. During the walks in the next three days we came close to a lot of animals, but two encounters stand out the first one with two elephants that was app. 20 meters away! Our guards had made sure that there was a ditch between the elephants and us. It was a mindblowing experience beeing so close to a free living animal.

We were in South Africa for 3 weeks and our 2 night stay at Africa on Foot has given me my favorite memories. The staff is incredibly friendly and Connie is the best guide we have had on our 3 trips to Kruger area. She knows her stuff and she inspired confidence in her ability to keep everyone safe on our bushwalks. We stayed here 8 years ago and we were not disappointed upon our return. It is a very special place and we had some outstanding elephant encounters. We enjoyed getting to eat meals with fellow travellers and all the guides made an effort to engage with us beyond the call of duty. I was very sad to leave and highly recommend this amazing place that I carry in my heart now,

Absolutely wonderful. The location, the rooms, the food, it's all excellent! Elephants came to drink from the pool twice while I was there. The guides are AMAZING! I can hardly imagine any guides being better than Matt, Nicollete, Connie and Anti. They truly love what they do and you learn a lot on their drives and walks. The tree house is a must! I loved it. Truly can't say enough good things about this place. You will feel like family here!

I've been to the Africa on Foot Camp for three days in march 2024. If you like beeing in the nature, this is your place to be. There is a game walk in the early morning and a game drive in the evening, both with the guides Connie and Calvin. Between the safari activities you can relax at the lapa or the two pools the camp has to offer. I took lots of photos with interesting animals, wildlife and landscape. The guides are very experienced and if you want to, you will learn an lot about the wildlife. I highly recomend Africa on Foot and I am looking forward to beeing there again on my next trip to south africa.

We had a short but sweet experience at Africa on foot. We only had time for 1 night drive but saw a lot of elephants and a lion. JD the guide was full of life and a great guide/person to be around and always willing to help. The camp itself is similar to that of a group camping set up although with private sleeping + showering quarters. One of the couples in camp were on their honeymoon. The team set up a gorgeous little area over looking a water hole and the sunset for the couple wine and snacks. Highly recommend Africa on foot for those searching for a well priced rustic -+ raw Safari experience.

We spent 4 nights at Africa on Foot in the wet, summer season and it is an experience that will stay with me forever. The 4 members of the guiding team ( Connie, Luke , Danelle and Tyson) were warm , welcoming and enthusiastic. Our trip coincided with once in a generation rain but that didn't dampen ours or their spirits. The walking safaris were limited because of the rain but we still saw ( and heard!) some amazing wildlife. Stand out experiences were seeing two hippos mating and our lone game drive cruiser being surrounded by a small herd of elephants . We also saw a leopard walking across the road, oblivious to us. And the advantage of the season was we saw quite a few young, including a baby rhino and a buffalo that was a few hours old. The wildlife don't seem a threat but they felt more reserved than the other safari we did, which makes for an amazing experience. You feel you are lucky to see them. For three of our nights there was just us and another couple but in any case there are only 5 "cabins" so the camp has a very intimate feel. Meals are shared with other guests with one of the rangers acting as host, which we really enjoyed as it was enriching to get to know other people. The rangers were also attentive during other moments, always asking us if they could get or do anything for us. Amazing service - and I liked the fact that from this point of view there was no distinction between types of role. It all made for a welcoming and warm experience. The accommodation was as expected, fairly basic from one point of view but we had a comfortable bed, a decent shower and electricity at all times thanks to the solar panels. Wifi was always available in the communal areas. The food was abundant and very tasty. I will never forget our time at Africa on Foot, thank you to all the team.

My sister and I spent two nights and we would have loved to stay longer. The lodge is really nice because it is intimate, there are not a lot of guest and you have some really good place to relax and chat with others. The food was absolutely delicious (we are still very much shocked that we had such amazing meals in the middle of a reserve!!). The room are very comfortable. Big big thanks to Craig and Jon for the bush walk and the game drive, it was fantastic and we got really lucky. We will always remember our first night: Craig: "Okay so do you want to go have a look at those two lions we heard of? Or do you want to have wine and beers first?" Us: "Well, definitely the lions!! But if we can drink wine and watch the lions, that would be perfect!" We were joking, but guess what happened? In the end we watched about 4 beautiful male lions while drinking our wine!! Truly incredible. Thanks again to our guide Craig, we really appreciated your kindness and you have a very inspiring energy, with a lot of wisdom to share.
