Amazing historic hotel in the heart of Eksjo. Close to everything. The buffet breakfast was incredible! Love lingonberry juice! Something for every one. Spacious rooms. Can not say enough.

The front desk staff were incredibly helpful in every way. They shared info about the area, gave directions, helped with some atypical requests. Outstanding service. The breakfast is hard to beat.

We had chosen this stop on our way to Öland to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. It was low key because of the covid situation. There was limited service at the hotel and no restaurant. Breakfast was operating and of good quality. Our room was one of the two top rooms, very spacious with lots of old paintings and furniture.

Hotel in a good position. Walk one way to modern shops other way to gamla old town.
Room large, clean if a little basic.

We stayed at the Eksjo stadshotel when in the area during Sunday. We checked in on a Sunday at normal dinner time, and the restaurant at the hotel was closed, as it is apparently every Sunday. The hotel is charming, but is very old and perhaps things have been let go a bit over the years. The room was clean and has a good view of the square. Breakfast at the hotel was standard swedish which was ok, but I can’t help but wonder how charming the hotel could be if someone pumped some money into it - it’s rates are not cheap as there is no competition in the area.

Restaurant attached to hotel, but seems to be frequented also by locals. Menu is short, with classics, like burgers and salmon. Overall not very inspiring - neither food, nor wine list, but well-cooked. Staff is friendly and attentive
