Hotel Sonnwendhof Engelberg

I had a lovely stay at this very comfortable hotel. The rooms are a good size with plenty of room in the en-suite bathrooms and generous sized balconies. The staff are really lovely and extremely helpful. The breakfast was great with a lot of choice and plenty of tea and coffee. The hotel is situated close to the station in the direction of the ski gondola so no need to catch the bus. There are plenty of places close by in the town to eat at in the evenings.

The best located hotel: it is super close the gondolas to go to titlis. Rooms are clean and the setup for us and our two kids in a single room was perfect. I really loved the hotel team - the had plenty of small attentions to make our stay more enjoyable. The breakfast featured local high quality products from the family of the owners. The sauna was always empty and larger than expected - a perfect way to end a day after the skiing!

We stayed 3 days at Hotel Sonnwendhof and I can definitely recommend it as for a short stay and for a long vacation. The hotel is very well maintained! The people, who work there really care about their customers making them comfortable as home. The room we had was spacious, with a balcony and comfy bed. The hotel has an inside children entertaining room. Breakfast is excellent and oriented for kids as well. It offers many local goods. The restaurant offers a 3 course dinner at St. Josefshaus hotel, which was pretty decent and not expensive. There are a lot of hiking trails around Engelberg including Titlis - 3000 meters above sea level. You can find easy routes with kids and a lot of options for experienced hikers. Coop supermarket is a in a walking distance as well as Engelberg's public pool. And the hotel has its own sauna! We would definitely get back to the hotel another time!

Had 2 nights here after a night in Zurich and came here by train then only a short walk from the station. We were able to get an early check-in which was very handy, the room was typical Swiss and comfy but would have been handy to have a kettle in the room. Breakfast was very good and Luzcia was a very good host.

We have visited this hotel many times and this is the first time back since COVID. The hotel is beautifully situated in the Lucerne area and Engleberg is a great place to unwind and be truly 'in the mountains'. This are has so much to offer and has plenty to do all year round. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and welcoming the rooms are very comfortable and clean. We hope to be back next year!

I've stayed in many hotels in Europe and the Sonnwendhof in Engelberg is definitely one of the best, and possibly the best! The hotel is very close to the gondola and the hotel is clean and nice, has nice rooms, bathrooms, and showers. But the best part is the staff! Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful! They go above and beyond to accommodate you and any special requests you have. We were a group of 28 and some had dietary restrictions, which the hotel was very accommodating! And Silvia was phenomenal! She was always helpful, smiling, and friendly! Multiple people in our part commented on how great she is! I highly recommend this hotel if going to Engelberg!

The hotel is located close to the train station, close to the center and also well located to the Titlis station. Rooms are large and clean, shower pressure great. If you don’t like using the all purpose shower gel on your hair, bring your own. But the best thing about this hotel is the friendly service. Super nice staff always ready to help. Breakfast is excellent.

We had the most pleasant of experiences with our stay here . We arrived later than the work hours of the hotel staff. Luzia was still there to greet us and that took away all the stress of checkins ! Fast , informative and very jovial Our rooms were loveliest ! we had three rooms booked and we got views of all directions . Clean sheets , and room ! Very near to the station and the Titlis base Very nice breakfast ! Parking available and we could use it for sometime after the checkout so very convinient ! Lovely sweet personalsted messages . If you are travelling with elderly ! this is a good hotel

Stayed 2 nights to hike. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Digital access and check-in/out. Situated beside the railway station. Delicious breakfast with local and homemade products. Honesty bar. Very clean and airy room. Quiet location. Will definitely visit again!
