March 10th- 17th 2024 : We had great Snow this week . Our inaugural visit to Andorra marked a significant milestone in our skiing adventures spanning over two decades. Having explored numerous destinations and endured some less-than-ideal accommodations, we found solace in the convenience of this Hotel . Nestled in Andorra, we discovered Hotel Plarine , a quaint yet charming hotel, boasting modest yet immaculate rooms meticulously tended to by the hospitable staff. Despite the snug ski room lacking boot heaters, the culinary offerings surpassed expectations all around , tantalizing our taste buds with delectable delights, while the evening entertainment fostered a great atmosphere among us and guests. The exceptional service from the bar staff extended beyond hospitality and were always on hand with lots of information on the area , with seamless Wi-Fi connectivity facilitating remote working if needed , allowing for timely excursions to the slopes each day. Such exemplary standards warranted our hotel a commendable rating of 6/5 top marks from us , surpassing the conventional five-star scale. However, amidst the idyllic setting, a glaring inconvenience marred our experience – the Buses. These two services, comprising a free option and the paid L5 service, presented logistical challenges and considerable frustration. Despite the nominal fee of €1.90 each way for the L5 service, only cash payments were accepted. Frequent delays compounded the issue, with protracted waits at the bus stop, sometimes enduring up to 20-30 minutes. Moreover, the inability to transport skis on the free service necessitated cumbersome loading into the bus's undercarriage, resulting in a chaotic pile-up of equipment. This stark contrast to the superior bus services experienced in other resorts underscored the need for improvement. A simple solution presented itself: if the hotel proprietor were to implement a shuttle service to ferry guests to the slopes during peak hours in the morning our holiday experience would have been flawless. We would have paid extra for this service , distance to the slops , only 2km or less away . Even it was only in the morning as we could find our way home in the evening . The bus drivers were lovely , But their reluctance to assist passengers, particularly families with young children, exacerbated the challenge. Thus, we appeal to the Andorra Council to rectify these shortcomings, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all visitors. In conclusion, while our trip to Andorra had its moments , we came home with cherished memories from this lovely family run Hotel .
