Barceló Hamilton Menorca - Adults Only

L'hôtel est très élégant le personnel au petit soin, le petit déjeuner exceptionnel, nous avons adoré !

La ubicación del hotel es muy buena, con una vista muy bonita y con muchísimos restaurantes al lado en el puerto. Cuesta un poco llegar, eso sí, y es probable que en temporada alta sea muy difícil aparcar. El desayuno de notable. La ducha de cortesía el último día por la tarde es un detallazo para aprovechar bien el día de salida. El servicio muy atento.

La habitación me ha resultado pequeña.

This was our first visit to this hotel, the reception personal were very friendly and helpful. The room was 4star plus and the balcony had a lovely view of the pool , we were only bed and b the breakfast was excellent and the harbour views to die for, as were the restaurants only a short walk along from the hotel.We visited Mahon whcih is definately worth a visit 10 euros in taxi. the only comment on the room there could have been more storage space.

We’ve been to the hotel several times now and we will return again. It’s a great location for the local bars and restaurants and for going into Mahón. Once you know what to expect from the hotel it is a more enjoyable experience. Based on the latest reviews of May 2024, these would put me off booking this hotel but we know different. Yes, the roof top terrace is a major selling point for the hotel and yes, it was closed until Wednesday 8th May which would be a huge disappointment. We’ve experienced this before and it is a let down. I suppose the only thing you can do is book a week or two later but if Jet2 (who we didn’t book through this time) are saying the start of May, it’s out of order. We booked all inclusive the first time we were at this hotel in 2018 and never booked it again for all the reasons everyone else has said. The food is not great but why eat there when there are a good selection of cafes and restaurants which are reasonably priced for good food only a 4-5 minute stroll away. You’re better off paying slightly less for the hotel at B&B rate and budgeting to eat out as the food in the cafes and restaurants is far better. I made a mistake this time and booked a standard room. There wasn’t a balcony and the view wasn’t great but the room was tidy and clean and there wasn’t any noise. I didn’t bring this up with the hotel staff but the view out of room 338 isn’t good but like I said, the rest of the room was ok. Also, comments on room size are a bit confusing, yes they’re not massive but you’re not living in there full time. I don’t know what prices people are paying but this hotel isn’t exactly overpriced unless some one is getting robbed by the travel agent. Looking back we’ve usually booked a superior room which we’ve never had a problem with and will be booking superior or more in the future. Comments made regarding the pool are pretty accurate to be fare. It is enclosed within the centre of the hotel and people have to move beds to try and catch the sun. It is also really quiet so, other than play some music out there there’s not much more can be done. People have referred to it as a prison exercise yard but I like to call it ‘Gods waiting room’ as it is deadly silent 🤣🤣 As with a majority of holiday hotels and night entertainment don’t be holding your expectations too high 🤔🤔 Overall, if you want the best experience from this hotel, book several weeks into the season or several weeks before the end of season if you don’t want to go peak season, DON’T book all inclusive as the food isn’t fantastic and don’t book standard room. It is unfortunate that some people have had a not so good experience in some rooms but we’ve always been OK.

We have just returned from a week all inclusive at the BARCELO HAMILTON Menorca. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The selling point of the hotel was the skybar and jacuzzis on the hotel roof, on arrival we were informed this was closed for refurbishment . We took the matter up wlth the jet 2 rep who also said that they hadn’t been told of this , this was just the start , the rooms were tiny and in much need of redecorating, the grout in the shower was black and mouldy. We couldn’t get the safe to work , informed the reception who said they would send up someone to sort this . We are still waiting . The food left a lot to be desired , mostly it was cold and not much variety. Some evenings we had to eat out even though we were “all inclusive “ minimal drinks were included in the package . We had to ask several times to have milk and water replenished in the room as this was not done . We were offered to be moved but unfortunately no other hotels nearby offered all inclusive and the one we decided on was full. All in all considering we paid a lot of money for a weeks holiday we were very disappointed . The roof top opened the day before we left for home , there fore we were all squished up by the pool in the court yard chasing the sun every half hour , the indoor pool wasn’t as we expected . It was a plunge pool with a glass roof but still outdoors , therefore when it rained it was freezing cold , definitely not the exclusive all inclusive holiday we were expecting .

Was really looking forward to this holiday but so disappointed the room was very badly designed no room for clothes no draws wardrobe door very noisy and would not close properly and shower dark water went from to to cold in the shower Roof top closed for maintenance but why when people have paid good money for this holiday one of the reasons I came to this hotel was Roof top terrace and entertainment (none) there are no beaches nearby but didn't mind because I knew we would be using the roof top (not). There was no entertainment except for 1 singer . The food was always Luke warm/cold and lack of variety I notched last year on TripAdvisor cold food was mentioned but obviously nothing has been done its not the chef but the way they store it. This hotel has great views over the harbour though.

We selected a Superior room with a sea view and we were extremely pleased with our choice! Roof top bar was not opening until mid May, even though the weather was very good .

We have been coming to Es Castell regulary since 2015. During our most recent visit in April 2024 we visited the Barcelo Hamilton to ask if we could view one of their double sea view rooms (we wanted to check out the lack of privacy of the bathroom / toilet in the bedroom that other reviewers had mentioned on Tripadvisor). The lady at reception said we could see the rooms if we visited their website. I explained that we had looked at their website but would like to view a room in person, she explained that they were very busy as it was a very busy check-in day. I explained that I totally understood and said that we would be staying for a week and would be happy to view the room when it was convenient for them as we only needed 5 minutes. Frustratingly she said that this would not be possible. This is in stark contrast to another 2 hotels that we visited in Es Castell that said we could visit at our convenience and they would do their best to meet our request (which they both did). Maybe the person on reception that we spoke to at the Barcelo Hamilton did not have the authority to allow us to view the room, however based on our experience we would now not look at staying at the Hamilton in the future.
