This hotel is very good. I cannot understand why it has any reviews other than 5 stars! Room was huge, well equipped, full mini bar, shiny clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was continental and all good quality, but the meal in the restaurant was exceptional. If you stay here, and you should, then eat here, you must . No complaints at all, everything just perfect. I will be back .

Maybe with arriving at the front desk, being greeted by a man, while the woman didn't say a word, not even hello, but shoved a registration form at my husband. Or maybe with paying 245€ for a room with a jacuzzi where there isn't even hand soap in the bathroom. I had to climb into the jacuzzi and go across all the way to the far wall to get soap to wash my hands, which I'm sure is good exercise but not really practical. Or maybe I should have mentioned the candle arrangement, a tribute to the honeymoon suite, in which every single tea light was burned out, so no candles. Or could it be the unsightly stained sofa on which I refused to sit down. Surely breakfast made up for everything else? Your can press fresh orange juice. That's a good point. Forget the rest, particularly if you arrive a half hour before closing the breakfast room. You will have slivers of cheese as the trays are not refilled. As for dinner, it's half and half. The soup was good. My husband's salad was fine. My own dish was really not very good, tiny slivers of overcooked venison in a lot of brown sauce. l should have believed the reviews!

Classic family run European hotel. Kind of quirky but homely, great restaurant food and superb location. Unintentionally retro and highly recommended!

There was just one thing that was bad and that was the housekeeping that came into the room at 10:00 . Checkout is at 11:00 . We where sleeping.

This property is a must do in Esch sur Sure - the rooms are all individually named - service is excellent - we had the hamman room and really enjoyed the steam bath. Bed was very comfortable - breakfast was great. Highly recommend this property.

For my cycling trip of 3 days in Luxemburg I needed something centrally located. Esch seemed to be a good spot for that. Despite the mixed reviews decided to take my chances and book 2 nights. Esch sur Sure is a tourist trap, and with only 2 hotels you haven't got much too choose from. The other has even worse reviews. The room assigned, 17, is in a separate building next to the church with its bells ringing every 15', starting at 7 in the morning. You don't need to set your alarm... Good thing though that at 23:00 it is the last. Reception; as mentioned by other reviewers: unpolite and unfriendly. Breakfast: good with plenty of choice. Diner: because of the other reviews we decided not te eat here. Room: dated with a small bathroom, shower of 1m2. Plus: spring water from the tap. Beds: comfortable. Staff: when the owners are unpolite, the staff is adjusting accordingly. Hence the title of this review. Esch: only 3 places where you can have a coffee; this hotel: coffee is good! The other hotel: dirty terrace, so we went somewhere else. Third place only accepts cash... Summary: too expensive for what you get. Advice: only when you absolutely need to stay in Esch.

I booked a room for 1 night for 2 persons and 1 dog, bc according to their *********** page they are "pet friendly". After I booked and payed in advance a normal room without free cancelation (!), the owner wrote to me that dogs are allowed only in a higher category room, which would add 65 EUR to the cost of the room for one night (almost 200 EUR). He suggested paying only 45 EUR. I refused it and agued that we have a valid contract by me booking and paying and by them confirming the reservation. Finally he wrote this: "I am the Owner and i make the rules for DOGS"...yes, that is true, but he makes rules AFTER you pay the whole amount without free cancelation!

Amazing location in beautiful Esch sur Sure. Perfect for walking. Rooms are small but well designed and comfortable. Excellent food at the restaurant. Really enjoyed a great massage at the spa. Great historical castle and old buildings. Breakfast nice but not outstanding.

The restaurant was great. The shower water took 30 minutes to become just warm. We had to park in back of our street and carry our own bags up a hill. Our greeting at reception was close to being 'hostile'. The area around the hotel is very pretty.
