This hotel is....not great. I feel bad because I know hotels are trying their best with limited means and staffing right now but I was very unimpressed. We stayed here for one night at the end of a long new England trip staying at many other hotels along the way, picked here due to it's relatively close proximity to the airport and the photos looked nice. Parking is an unsecured lot but free which is a plus. , But do not leave anything in your car very easy for someone to break in, not sure if they had cameras but poor visibility of the lot and just not secure in any way. But it's free so hey...what can you do. The area is sketchy to say the least. If you are staying out of necessity like us I would pick somewhere closer to the airport and pay more for a safer area. All night sirens were going off and our room was on the front of the hotel so not quiet at all...I get it nothing you can do about that but it was soooo loud. The bedding was lumpy, really horrible pillows, some of them had a decorative case on them, not functional for sleeping at all. The bed looked like it had been sat on before we arrived. On top of that the room itself had a giant pillar almost in the middle of the room, groggy and restless in the middle of the night I ran into it going to the bathroom because if you are on the right side of the bed you literally have to walk around this giant pillar in the middle of the room, very poor design. Again all of this I could get past because it was only one night and obviously the hotel can't control the building structure BUT my issue came with housekeeping the next morning. 915am - housekeeping knocks on the door we say we are leaving at 11...when checkout is. 1025am - housekeeping knocks again I answer, my husband was still in the shower and she asks me H: are you leaving today Me : um yes. My husband is still in the shower we will be gone soon H : "what time are you leaving" Me : soon. Checkout is at 11 yes? H : yes but when are you leaving? Me : we will be gone soon, it's not 11 yet. Then she just looked annoyed like I am the one doing something wrong....checkout is at 11 not 915, not 1025...not 1045, 11! The whole exchange was beyond bizarre. Having come from a long background of working in hotels I was beyond annoyed at this exchange, I was trying to pack up and get ready to go. If you are THAT busy with incoming arrivals that you need to bother guests before checkout (twice) then there are plenty of other rooms to clean of guests already departed. Front desk and housekeeping needs to communicate better about checkouts and which rooms are vacant and ready to be cleaned. Especially since we told the first housekeeper we were leaving at 11am. I was in the middle of packing up and we walked out of the room at 11:00 on the dot. Very off putting and after a night of sleeping horribly it was incredibly frustrating and not hospitable in any way. I understand hotels are struggling with staffing but this type of stuff
