Eleonas Hotel

This was our second visit to Elionas. We had thought our first visit, a few years ago, was fantastic but this time, with the addition of the big adults only swimming pool it was even better. As before our cottage was clean and well decorated. The beds were very comfortable and we specially liked our own private courtyard shaded by a big carob tree. Again , as before, the food was amazing. The freshness, the quality, the variety was wonderful. There was so much choice both at the breakfast buffet and the evening dinner. Although I did have my favourite starter ( saganaki ) twice I could have had a different starter every day of our ten day stay! The boss Manolis went above and beyond in helping us and the remainder of the staff were all friendly and helpful. English was spoken by virtually every member of staff and the waiters and waitresses were very patient with my attempts to speak and read Greek! We are already thinking about next year's holiday at Elionas.

The perfect place for us looking for peace and rest. The kindness of the staff, the quality of the meals, the infrastructure of the cottages, all was "pico bello" (really excellent). The situation is ideal for walkings, visiting historical sites, swimming in the sea. Eleonas, you see us coming back next year !

Absolutely magical. Stunning setting, amazingly warm staff, incredible food. I cannot wait to return to this hidden gem! This was the last of our three stops in Crete. We spent 5 nights there and it was not enough. Could not have been a better experience.

Manolis and his team are doing incredible things, all-around, here at 'Eleonas'! The setting alone is worth a few nights' stay, tucked into the walls of Rouvas Gorge and slightly north of the quaint mountain village of Zoras. Adding on: the hilly layout provides vistas and privacy for each cabin, the two pools offer something for each water-happy visitor, and the dining areas are great as well. Breakfast is a never-ending spread of Greek favourites (scrambled eggs topped with tomatoes & feta; Greek yogurt with local honeys & jams; pastries a-plenty!) They are happy to point you in the right direction for a local hike, of which there are many, or suggest a nearby road trip. An excellent place to spend some - or all - of your Crete vacation. As our first holiday as a family of four, we could not have chosen a better place to stay. We were made to feel so welcome and comfortable by the manager, Manolis, who was friendly and always available. The location is stunning with views across the mountains and the entire premises is beautifully maintained. Our accommodation was clean and comfortable with excellent WiFi signal throughout. Aircon worked perfectly and the shower was amazing. The pool area was pristine and perfect for the kids. Plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas for relaxing. There's also an adult only pool which is pure bliss. We did half-board which was ideal for us. The breakfasts were incredible with a range of authentic Greek delicacies along with more basic options for kids. The dinners were also excellent and the kids menu meant even our fussy children were full every evening. I cannot recommend highly enough and we will absolutely be returning.

EXCEPTIONAL! We arrived in the middle of the night to find the most amazing place with most amazing and caring staff I have ever met in any hotel. The facilities are the best! For the kids and adults. The cottage was carefully designed and very well thought out. We took the half board and it's really worth it. Do yourself a favor and go there

Every rave review you’ve read about this place is true! My sister and I spent three nights at Eleonas during a 2-week road trip across Crete, and it was our favorite stop. We stayed in a two-bedroom cottage, which was spacious, clean and comfortable, with fabulous mountain views and both a large patio and second-story balcony. We loved hanging out on the patio drinking wine. The staff was so friendly and helpful - they really went out of their way to make sure we had a fabulous time. Breakfast was a huge spread with lots of variety, and new things every day. I would give it six stars if I could! Don’t miss hiking the Rivas Gorge (and borrow the hiking poles offered by the hotel)!

Stayed at Eleonas to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and didn’t want to leave!!! The country village that has been created by Manolis is very special, the beautiful surroundings, extremely well appointed and comfortable cottages, delicious food and wines and most of all the warm and friendly staff especially Mando and Mirto who looked after us every evening thank you so much. We will definitely be returning in the future and can’t wait!! Julie & Andy Gee

We travelled around Crete and had our longest stay here and I'm very glad we did. It went off to a brilliant start as Manolis upgraded us to one of the houses with its own pool-fabulous! As others have stated, Manolis and his staff are friendly, approachable and professional. 'Diamond' and Mitro in the restaurant were good fun and made our evenings enjoyable. We were half board and didn't regret it, the food was fresh and tasty with a good selection of hot and cold starters, and then 3 choices of main course each evening. Breakfast was buffet, with a mixture of Cretan dishes (loved the zucchini 'cake'!), cold meats, fruit, yogurt, and pastries. Manolis provides local information about walks and places to visit; we did the wine tasting which was very interesting-bought 6 bottles of wine which wasn't wise with our 23kg luggage limit! My husband and I also booked the private dinner, he wasn't as keen as me initially, but we both really enjoyed it-I would recommend it. The adults pool is super for a swim-I swam every morning before breakfast and had it to myself. The house we were in was up a very steep hill, so for someone with mobility issues this might cause issues getting to the restaurant, but there are golf carts available if this is the case. For us it was an opportunity to walk off some of the food! Would love to visit again, maybe at a cooler time when we could walk more.
