Villa Conti

Very unlikely in 2023 to think of proposing a luxury experience in a 19th century villa without air conditioning, with the gardener who at 2pm invites you to clear the patio in front of the pool where you and your company are sipping an ice-cold drink after a 3-hour journey below 35°C because he has to mow the lawn and, last but not least, the absence of bidets is fine in France and Germany but please not in Italy! On the other hand, the assistance and helpfulness of Reception was excellent.

Very unlikely in 2023 to think of offering a luxury experience in a beautiful 19th-century villa but without air conditioning in July with 35 °C! Last but not least, while we were waiting to check in, on a lovely patio overlooking the pool, around 2 p.m., after a three-hour journey under the scorching sun, the gardener arrived and invited us to leave because he had to cut the grass on the lawn... inconceivable even in a 2-star hotel! On the other hand, the helpfulness of reception is to be appreciated.

Peaceful location with some great local restaurants. The hotel itself is good for the price, and while there are areas that could be improved, I won't go into them, as I appreciate that the hotel industry isn't an easy one. However, I did have one particularly disappointing experience, that I feel it's important to highlight, so that others don't face the same issue. When it was time for us to leave the hotel, I asked the person on the concierge / reception desk if they would kindly order us a cab. They did so, stating that it'd cost us 'about 40 euros' when I enquired how much it'd be. When the taxi arrived, there was already 34 euros on the meter. I asked why this was, and he said he'd driven from Livorno to collect us. We could either pay him 34 euros to go away, or take the cab. At no point were we made aware of the extra charge - and the cab ended up costing 96 euros for a 30 minute drive. The concierge refused to accept any responsibility, and stated that it was my fault, something I cannot even begin to comprehend how they were able to justify saying. I'm sure this post will garner a 'we told you about the additional charge' response from the hotel, so I'll take this opportunity to state that they categorically did not. I am astounded that a hotel, who have surely booked cabs for their guests before, would not be aware of this reality, and am shocked, not only at the lack of service, but at the relative rudeness of the response. Really disappointed - trip ruined.

Delightful stay in the “ renovated Villa Conte. The experience of dining at the villa restaurant , “ La Mirage” with the exceptional chef ( worthy of Michelin stars) is a Must ! Outstanding . The new rooms are beautifully appointed . Ask for a “ room with a view” overlooking the beautiful countryside.

Ieri ho dovuto abbandonare Villa Conti; ero stata proprio coccolata dal personale ma come ci hanno detto loro sono ancora alle prime armi e qualche disguido tecnico c’è stato. A parte qualche intoppo nella camera dove si sentivano rumore della stanza superiore alla nostra, mi è piaciuta molto per la sua colazione bella abbondante, la camera sistemata come doveva per il tempo in cui Villa Conti era ambientata e mi è piaciuta anche molto la vista spettacolare della nostra camera. Grazie a tutti di averci accolti!

Oggi ho lasciato Villa Conti. La villa è ben tenuta ma come ci la signorina a colazione sono ancora alle prime armi, perciò non tutte le cose mi sono piaciute. La colazione mi è piaciuta perché era molto abbondante. La camera ben curata a parte qualche disguido coi rumori della camera superiore. I ragazzi della villa è stato veramente gentile e accogliente.

En rentrant vous serez surpris de découvrir un lieu superbe ! Un très bon accueil de la part du staff également Les chambres ne sont pas climatisées mais tant mieux ! Ça change des hôtels où il fait 10 degrés dans la chambre en arrivant Un très bon hôtel je recommande et j’y retournerai sans hésiter
