Having just spent 2 nights at this hotel and just having read another review who must have staying in the same room as the toilet seat is still broken, still no heating and thins duvet. The second night we were woken up at 2 by 2 couples who I think drunk and decided to talk loudly in the corridor and then their room this went on till 4. There is no night manager so your on your own.

Unfortunately if you stick MPW on your restaurant menu then expect to be of a certain level. My steak was over seasoned and excessively salty, it also had not rendered the fat/sinew so well so quite chewy. The pinot noir red was in the full bodied part of the wine menu, generally light bodied, perhaps this was an exception but doesn't make a lot of sense. Waiting staff were overseen by a very grumpy man who merely gestured this way and that, also maybe remember who ordered which main, rather than "who's for the steak?" So many restaurants in Ipswich / Woodbridge do it better.. The Ale House is also a complete let down, its completely unsure of what it is trying to be, it certainly isn't an Ale House, as little to no ales, and 2 large TVs playing MTV and a dart board. Reminded me of where Alan Partridge may go for a fancy drink at a travel tavern.

Went for Sunday lunch - friendly welcome from Reception & restaurant staff. Nice airy restaurant and it was nearly full of customers. Service was just right - not too rushed or too slow. We [three people] all had the main course Sunday roast, then deserts and it was all very nicely presented and very filling. Wine prices were very reasonable and the whole meal and drinks worked out at approximately £30 per head and it was nice to see that the 10% service charge was clearly stated on the bill. Only minor snags : The steps by the Reception and also in the corridor to the toilets have no hand rail and one of our party found this a bit nervy - Also we had to drape winter coats over the back of our dining chairs - Would have been better if staff had offered to hang these away somewhere. Definitely one of the best dining spots in town.

Our first visit so we thought we’d try the Sunday roast menu at just under £30 for 3 courses. Liked: Very very tasty food Wine selection Setting Prompt service To consider: Sit away from the kitchen route (it was very busy) 2 courses would be plenty (circa £25) Don’t order an extra cauliflower cheese as there were plenty of vegetables served Order tap water and save £11 Overall we enjoyed the meal and we will return

Totally mis-sold this hotel. Firstly, avoid Room 218 like the plague: when I turned the light off, the fire exit (which is in the room, strangely) is lit up for safety. This means the room as bright as hell. I went down to change room, but it was full. So, I was given a black bin bag to cover it… so climbed up on the furniture, dismantled the light unit and covered it. The manager was going to call me to apologise, but never did. The fact they rent this room out and INTENTIONALLY choose to impact a guest’s stay is bad form. Besides that, the bed is massively poor quality. Springs popping out of the mattress and creaking. The new flooring has been laid on top of old creaking floor boards, a practice which shows their willingness to cover up the problems and not fix them. Room 218 also had the kitchen for the hotel underneath it, so could hear the chefs talking until late. The restaurant and lobby may look nice, but it’s superficial. The rooms are totally rubbish and you’d get a better sleep at the Travelodge.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch - service and food amazing! £24.95 for 2 course is really good value for money, especially for the quality of the food. The refurbishment from the previous hotel is fab. Will definitely be back - good for families and celebrations

We booked a deluxe room which it certainly was not! Not happy to have paid £175 Per night for this deluxe room as not deluxe quality. The room was cold with no heating, no heating in bathroom and a very thin duvet. The TV didn't work properly, TV guide was set to 5/1/2022 on 25/9/2024. The fire alarm went off at 7:30 am on 25/09/24 because another guests shower had set off the fire alarm. The Bed was very uncomfortable I could feel a spring when lying in bed which gave me back ache. There was a street light right outside window making it difficult to sleep. Coffee machine coffee tasted of plastic and the machine smelt of hot plastic after use. The bathroom door didn't close properly. The toilet seat did not fit properly and there was one roll of budget toilet paper for a two night stay for 2 adults.

The dining room is very nicely decorated apart from the net curtains and I think the table lamps should be lit at lunchtime service. The menu is perfect, the staff are truly professional and we’re a highlight of our experience. We will return

I was visiting Felixstowe on business and the company booked me in to the Coco Hotel for two nights. I arrived at the reception at 4:15pm on a weekday and I received a friendly welcome. I was allocated room 218 and was told that breakfast was included. The room was upstairs and towards the end of a corridor. Upon entering the room I noticed it was spacious but the double bed was pushed up against the wall to one side of the room. I also noticed at the opposite side of the room next to the bathroom door was a fire exit door. Clearly signposted and with the normal push bar across the door similar to what one would see on any fire exit door. This was a little discerning and did not add to the comfortable setting of the bedroom. The bedroom window opened to a back alley between another residential building very close by. The window frame was the old slide up and down type but there was no way to keep the window up as it just slipped back down. The bathroom had a plastic based bathtub which was cracked and uneven at one end. The was a shower stand in the bathtub. There was a similar old wood frame slide design window. Fortunately, this window did stay up when open for about four inches. This was the only available airflow into the bedroom. Apparently, this room had been recently renovated but there were still visible signs of the old construction. The room sparsely furnished but there was a sofa and tea and coffee and toiletries and a tv screen provided. The bed was a double but with a thin lumpy mattress. Plenty of pillows and warm bedding. I went to have dinner in the main hotel restaurant and returned to my room early evening. When I turned off the bedroom lights to go to sleep. The room remained well lit by I large green light located on the ceiling in the middle of the bedroom. There was no switch for this light so I could not get to sleep with this green light glowing from the ceiling. The next morning I inquired about this and I was reminded that the green light was required as the fire exit door and area need to be visible. I subsequently discovered that this bedroom was the official designated fire exit for the entire floor!!! How is it possible that a hotel bedroom can be legally and practically designated as the only fire exit for that floor. I needed a key card to access this bedroom door. I was able to lock my door from the inside but it did automatically unclock when I turned the door handle from the inside. So what would have happened if a fire broke out in the hotel?? What was I required to do?? I was never informed by anyone that this was the official fire exit for the entire floor. I requested for another room without a permanent night light. This was eventually done with some difficulties as many of the rooms were still being renovated and not available. Breakfast in the main restaurant. I ordered the full English breakfast, being that it was prepared in the main restaurant kitchen and served in the main rest
