Residenza Conte di Cavour & Rooftop

The staff were super nice, and helpful. And the view from the rooftop was also nice! The room was just a little bit bothersome since it was next to the boiler.

Posizione ottima per visitare la città. Molto vicina anche alla stazione dei treni.

Personale gentile e cortese, situato a 5 minuti dalla Cattedrale, ottima posizione. Abbiamo trovato un organizzazione da parte dello staff che è venuto un po a mancare dato il problema che abbiamo riscontrato.

We stayed here for 6 nights over Valentine’s Day and were pleasantly surprised, we were on a budget and this accommodation was the most affordable in the city centre. We were worried after reading so many negative reviews but we had nothing bad to say about here at all! We stayed in a classic double room with a spacious bathroom and a large window. Everything worked and the TV came with Netflix, YouTube and Amazon prime. The rooftop was lovely and we spent most evenings up there drinking wine looking at the lovely view of the duomo, I’m not sure why it was previously described by others as a ‘death trap’, the steps were quite steep but that’s about it. It’s very high up but there are railings all the way around, we felt very safe. Our room was very clean and the receptionists were lovely, they were able to assist with any request we had and always asked us how we were/how our day was. It is less than a 10 minute walk from the Duomo and about 15/20 minutes from the tram/train station. If we stayed in Florence again, we would definitely stay here again.

It was not the same as show the picture. Really is very different and the Rooftop was closed. So, next hotel.

The hotel was great and our room felt rustic in the heart of the city. Very close to the museums, the Basilica, and other amenities. There is parking available, but it is a 20 minute walk (like most hotels in the heart of the city). The staff were very friendly and helped us navigate the city and get checked in late at night.

THEY DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE EMAILS! We booked 2 nights at this accommodation, and I informed the property twice that we will not be checking in at 3pm but we will be checking in early next morning as we want a place for luggage. When we arrived our PAID room had been given to someone else, We had a tour booked in which we missed due to the hotel messing us around by giving our paid room to someone else. When we finally got given a room, it was terrible, extremely small, we had to climb a very steep 'ladder like' stairs to get to our bed. The toilet was right in front of the shower door, virtually had to step over the toilet to have a shower. I have requested a refund, as they acknowledged they had received my email stating we will check in the early the next morning. I was told by reception on check out to email to receive a refund. I have emailed this property 3 more times since leaving as I have not yet received a refund. Do not book this place!

Without doubt the worst place I've ever stayed! Do not trust the images - the main one they show you on some sites of a facade of a beautiful nearby 4 star hotel (you just pick up your keys here)... this place I would give 1 star. I simply cannot believe we paid €130 a night (incl city tax) for this horrible experience. The bed headboard was so dirty and worn that the leather was flaking with mold starting to reveal itself and they attempted to hide this by tucking two thin *****s of cheap fabric over it. The balcony was a filthy boiler room and the bathroom had construction materials thick with dust. The window didn't open and walls were scuffed and in real need of a fresh lick of paint. We refused to stay in that room so they stuck us in a tiny store room that barely fitted the beds right beside reception (which is just a deck squeezed into a corridor btw so we heard every phone call in the morning). *********** refused to help us, the 4* hotel refused to help us and the main owners promised to call us and never did. Rooftop is tiny and so many people are sharing it. All I can say to be unbias is that it is a good location and had a friendly receptionist but quite frankly I wouldn't even stay here again if you paid me.
